· Summary
My name is Abdulaziz Al-Ghamdi. I am Mechanical Engineering student and I am COOP student at one of SABIC Companies that is Saudi Arabia Fertilizer Company (SAFCO). It is location in Jubail Industrial City. I am working in Maintenance Department. Our department managed by General Manager (GM) of maintenance for all plants. We have four plants in SAFCO, which are IBB, SF2, SF3 and SF4. Each one of them produce Urea and also there are manager for each one all these plants. In addition, there are two superintends below the manager. One of them is response on Urea and another superintend is response on Ammonia (NH3) and Utility (UTL). So, my job is in SF4 plant at Ammonia (NH3) and Utility (UTL) section.
About SAFCO Company:
Saudi Arabian Fertilizer Company, SAFCO is a Saudi joint Stock Company with a capital of SR 2000 million. The company, which is a part of Saudi Arabian Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), there are four plants located at Jubail Industrial City. Dammam Plant went on-stream in 1969 and closed in 2008 whereas Jubail plant SFII was commissioned in 1993, SFIII was commissioned in 2000, SFIV commissioned in 2006, and IBB (IBN AL-BAYTAR) Ammonia was commissioned in 1987, Urea and Compound Fertilizer (CF) were commissioned in 1990.
· Background
I started my coop program at Saturday in 16/6/2012 in SAFCO Company. My supervisor name’s Abbas Abdullah Al-Hussain. He is a superintend of Ammonia and Utility in SF4 plant. His Email and Business phone is and +966 (3) 342 2714. Until now I did not take training schedule, because I am just came to Maintenance building in Wednesday. But my supervisor tell me, I will take every week topic as pump and I will work on this topic for all this week on it to have enough knowledge about it. On the other hand, from these biweekly reports it will summary all what I did in these period of time.
· Progress
1. Planed work.
As I said before I did not have planed work yet. But I will take it next Saturday.
2. Work done
During these two weeks before, I took some orientation lectures in Aramco and SAFCO, but I will mention the orientation lectures that I took them in SAFCO. You can’t go to the plant without these lectures, because there is many dangerous materials that can kill people after 5 second from he smell it as Ammonia. So, I took almost 2-3 days of safety to lost prevention for humans and equipment’s. To knowing also more about the main production and equipment’s of that I will use them and understanding the behaviors of the company. All of these things I did them in (SLC) witch is SAFCO Learning Center and I stay there in majority of days in SAFCO.
So until now I did not go to field yet, but I will talk about what I did learn in SLC shortly. There are four main points that SAFCO focus on them. Which is Safety, SABIC and SAFCO values, Plant Overview-Maintenance and Plant Overview-Operation.
3. Problems
I started my internship in Aramco Company and I attend there around three days. When I check my location in work, I found my location is in Shaybah. So, I started search for another company during two days until I registered in SAFCO Company.
4. Schedule
Our time daily is from 7 am to 3:30 pm and 5 days a week. Every day we have safety meeting from 7 am. It takes 5-10 minuets. After safety meeting, we meet with our supervisor to give us our plan for this day. Then, I should go to field to finish our job until 11 am. In afternoon, I go to my office to write report and official work.

In my plan in next two weeks, I have monthly meeting for our department to discuses what we achieved in last month and separate motions between us. Also, I will take two things and I will focus on them in field.
