Event and Business Development Coordinator

The Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) seeks a creative, flexible, and entrepreneurial full-time Event and Business Development Coordinator. ADAA is growing, having just convened its largest conference in San Francisco. The position requires a candidate who is excited about expanding and growing the annual conference and is willing to pivot and adapt to a changing environment. This position is well suited for both a candidate who wants to learn all aspects of event management as well as a candidate who wants to help the organization reach the next level. Ideal candidates should be detail oriented, have strong analytical skills, be results-oriented, and interested in finding operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Meetings and Partnerships with all aspects of Annual Conference, with 1,300 attendees and 170 sessions.
  • Update website for all conference related material
  • Draft original copy for conference marketing
  • Initiate new ideas to enhance the effectiveness of the conference
  • Respond to all general conference inquiries
  • Assist with all aspects of onsite event management
  • Coordinate any other events (not currently on calendar) throughout the year
  • Manage exhibiting companies; maintain prospect list for exhibitors/sponsors and identify new companies for outreach
  • Assist with conference registration
  • Implement, streamline, and refine the conference awards program
  • Assist with securingconference support and implementing sponsor agreements, to include solicitation of ad copy and banner ads; fulfilment of signage agreements, and direct email blasts if appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other team members in securing organizational wide partnership agreements and implementing sponsored links, web and print advertising contracts.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2 years’ experience preferred in non-profit association and/or event coordination
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced growth-focused environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent writing/editing skills
  • Membership or meeting database experience a plus
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, CMS system
  • Proficient in e-marketing platforms (Constant Contact, etc.)
  • Website platform skills (Word Press, Drupal, etc.) preferred
  • Some desktop design skills preferred (Adobe/InDesign/Illustrator)

Job Type:

Full-time in ADAA’s Office; travel to annual conference (2018 Conference will be held in DC, 2019 Conference will be held in Chicago). Occasional weekend work. ADAA does not pay for relocation. ADAA offers a generous leave and benefit package.
