Job Title: / Heritage Assessments and Report Supervisor
Department: / MOLA Northampton
Grade / Pay Band 2.3
Salary: / In line with current MOLA pay scales
Hours: / 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Up to 40 hours can be required. Flexibility with working hours will be required.
Location: / The post is mainly based at Bolton House, Wootton Hall Park, Northampton. Flexibility with travel will be required including occasional travel to sites as required
Duration: / Permanent
Responsible to: / Senior Project Manager/Project Officers
Responsible for: / Project staff, as required for individual projects
Overall Job Purpose: / To be responsible for the research and preparation of various assessments, written schemes of investigation and project designs.
To be responsible for backlog project reporting to client report and publication level.
Key Result areas: / ·  To prepare written schemes of investigation, project designs, and risk assessments for upcoming fieldwork, in accordance with MOLA procedures and standards
·  To prepare reports, client reports and publications for backlog fieldwork projects to an appropriate academic standard in accordance with MOLA procedures and standards
·  To undertake proofreading and copy-editing of client reports, publication reports and any other documents required
·  To research and write desk-based assessments in accordance with MOLA procedures and standards to budget
·  To provide training in desk-based assessment and report writing skills if required
·  To assist in producing illustrations for above works as required, including site plans, sections and features, maps, and hand drawings as necessary
·  To ensure that project records are completed and lodged with MOLA Northampton Archivists in accordance with the relevant standards
·  To assist in the preparation of annual summaries for county, regional and national publications
·  To enter data onto OASIS for each report

·  To undertake such other duties as agreed with the line manager, commensurate with the level and scope of the post, that may be necessary from time to time.
Special Circumstances: / ·  High levels of screen and keyboard work
·  Occasional travel required between the Northampton office and appropriate resource centres around the country, and site visit
