PTO Fundraisers
PTO works hard to help our teachers, staff and students here at Woodside K-8. Part of that help is being able to donate funds to each classroom for help with various teacher/classroom projects, supplies, etc. To help out PTO hosts fundraisers. We just completed the ZBest Dining & Entertainment Coupon book fundraiser which was a success thanks to you – our students, parents, families and community. PTO will continue to fundraise throughout the school year and our next fundraisers will be Mrs. Field’s Cookie Dough and Butterbraids in late November or early December. Please be on the lookout for those flyers!
Red Ribbon Week – October 30 – November 5
October also brings us Red Ribbon Week – this year’s theme is “Respect Yourself – Be Drug Free!” The school will celebrate RRW October 30-November 5 as our sixth grade class will be on their Westminster Woods Science Field Trip October 26-30 and we want everyone to benefit from RRW. RRW is an alcohol, tobacco, and other drug prevention awareness campaign. If you would like to read more about RRW and what you can do to start a conversation at home about RRW visit redribbon.org, nfp.org, imdrugfree.com. Here is the Red Ribbon Week Schedule:
· Friday 10-30: Costume Day (all costumes must follow school dress code)
· Monday 11-2: Don’t Snooze Your Life Away (PJ Day)
· Tuesday 11-3: Partner Up Against Drugs Day (twin day – dress alike)
· Wednesday 11-4: Turn Your Back on Drugs Day (wear things inside out or backwards)
· Thursday 11-5: Black Out Drugs Day (wear black)
Yearbook Coordinator
We are in need of a yearbook coordinator for the 2015-2016 yearbook. Our kids love the yearbooks and this is a fun way to commemorate the school year. Programs like this do not happen without families like you so if you are interested in volunteering please contact Marianne Williams in the school office or at k you for your support!
November 6th Teacher Work Day

Birthday’s, Balloons, & Cupcakes
Classroom birthdays can be fun! If your student wants to celebrate with their classmates please keep the following in mind.
· Always check with your student’s teacher first. This is a learning environment and we need to ensure that it will not disrupt the day.
· Any food products need to be purchased from a store. No nuts please.
· Balloons and large flower arrangements are not allowed at school
Thank you for understanding!
