What is an accounting authority (AA)

An accounting authority is a billing intermediary between the mobile earth station and service providers or end-users in accordance with national shiplicensing requirements. It’s registered by an administration to act on behalf maritime mobile stations for the purpose of receiving and settling bills for maritime mobile services.

What is the Xantic AA

Xantic AA operates two AA codes: former Station 12 NL01 and former Telstra Satellite Services AA07. NL01 and AA07 provide accounting authority services for a large number of flagstates (see our overview attached).

Procedure

If you want to apply for Xantic NL01 as your accounting authority, you just contact your sales support manager. Sales support will fill in the forms for you and check with our back office if all requirments are met.

Flagstates

If your vessels are sailing under a flag which is not currently under our NL01 or AA07, we will endeavour to add the flag to one of our accounting authorities by requesting your local flagstate authorities.

Xantic handles the paperwork

If all requirements are matched we handle the paperwork i.e. inform all parties involved:

·  First of all we’ll inform your current PSA that you changed to Xantic NL01 or AA07

·  Next we’ll inform your present accounting authority that you changed to Xantic as your AA.

·  Finally we also inform inform the authorities under which flag your vessels are sailing that you changed to Xantic NL01 or AA07, where required.

After this you will be billed by Xantic NL01 or AA07 for Xantic traffic and for non-Xantic traffic.
