Thursday, October 29, 2015 Intro to School Budgeting – Board and Community
Work Session.
Friday, October 30, 2015 Budget packets and bid request sheets due back to Elementary/Secondary Directors from buildings/departments reporting to those offices.
Monday, November 2, 2015 Staffing requests due to Elementary/Secondary Directors.
Tuesday, November 10, 2015 Finance Committee Meeting.
Friday, November 13, 2015 Budget packets due in Business Office from Department Heads, Departments and Elementary/Secondary Directors.
Wednesday, November 25, 2015 Draft Budget submitted to Superintendent from Business Office for Review.
Tuesday, December 1, 2015 Finance Committee Meeting.
Tues-Thurs, December 1-3, 2015 Individual Budget justification sessions held with Administrators to review budget and staffing requests.
Friday, December 18, 2015 Draft Budget distributed to Board of School Directors for review.
Thursday, January 7, 2016 Budget Work Session/Special Meeting – Full Board. Board gives direction on resolution to be prepared for January 12th Special Meeting (necessary only if draft budget is above Act 1 Index level). Deadline for Preliminary Budget public display (if draft budget is above the Act 1 index). Deadline to adopt a resolution indicating taxes will not be raised above the Act 1 index (Accelerated Budget Opt Out Resolution - Special Meeting).
Tuesday, January 12, 2016 Special Meeting - Board approves “Intent to Adopt” Proposed Preliminary 2016-2017 Budget and authorizes advertisement (necessary only if draft budget exceeds Act I index level and district intends to seek Act 1 Exceptions). Finance Committee Meeting.
Week of January 18, 2016 Bid request sheets returned to buildings and departments for review and changes prior to soliciting bids.
Wednesday, January 20, 2016 Deadline to publish notice of intent to adopt the 2016-2017 Preliminary Budget (only necessary if opt out resolution was not approved).
Tuesday, January 26, 2016 Regular Board Meeting - Board approves Preliminary Budget and authorizes filing for Act 1 Exceptions as recommended in the budget. (Necessary only if draft budget exceeds 2016-2017 Act I Index level and opt out resolution was not approved).
Friday, January 29, 2016 Bid request sheets returned from the buildings and departments to the business office.
Monday, February 1, 2016 Deadline to submit 2016-2017 Preliminary Budget containing proposed tax increases to the Department of Education.
Thursday, February 4, 2016 Deadline to publish and post on the district website notice of intent to apply for referendum exceptions.
Tuesday, February 9, 2016 Finance Committee Meeting.
Thursday, February 11, 2016 Deadline to file for exceptions with PDE.
