Job Purpose: Deployment of cleaning staff in the most efficient and effective manner to ensure a high standard of cleaning is maintained throughout the University.
Key Accountabilities/Primary Responsibilities (6-10 bullet points maximum)
- Supervision of and guidance to cleaning staff ensuring all areas are covered by the cleaning rota, addressing any problems, reporting back to Domestic Services Manager/Assistant Manager.
- Issuing/checking/replacing in key cupboard, keys supplied to the cleaning staff. Reporting any missing keys immediately to the Domestic Services Manager.
- Ensuring cleaning staff are provided with adequate cleaning equipment and materials to perform cleaning efficiently.
- Monitoring the work of the cleaning staff, correcting faults where found.
- Checking the condition of cleaning equipment for cleanliness/misuse/safety.
- Instructing new cleaning staff in cleaning methods and standards required.
- Ensuring that cleaning staff undertake tasks in accordance with health and safety practices and procedures. Checking and recording tasks being carried out by the domestic staff.ie H&S Audits
- Reporting accidents/incidents to Domestic Supervisor.
- Reporting building repairs and defects to Domestic Supervisor.
- Carry out routine checks of all staff under your care on a daily basis.
- Other duties as required.
