The mission of the Lowcountry Food Bank is to lead the fight against hunger in our community. The Lowcountry Food Bank was founded in 1983 as a clearinghouse for donated food items through the generosity of Trident United Way and Coastal Community Foundation. In 2016, the LCFB partnered with approximately 300 agencies to distribute over 26 million pounds of food to over 275,000 food-insecure children, seniors, and adults. The Facilities Manager administers the maintenance activities in addition to related vendor relationships for Lowcountry Food Bank facilities: warehouse, offices, kitchen, regional food centers (RFCs) and rental property. Plans, budgets and schedules all maintenance including estimates on labor, materials and other related costs. Manages inventories and budgets for cleaning supplies, maintenance equipment and tools. Performs and supervises tasks related to day-to-day operations, internal requests for minor repairs and furniture/equipment moves. Establishes and maintains maintenance contracts. The Facilities Manager reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The ideal candidate will develop, maintain, and complete procedural checklists/logs to monitor condition of the buildings, warehouse, offices, and common areas. Conduct daily inspections of the building and grounds; identifies trends and investigates issues observed/reported and handles necessary maintenance and repair. The Facility Manager ensures the safe and efficient operation of buildings, including equipment such as refrigeration and racks. Works in collaboration with VP of Operations to conduct monthly AIB compliance walk-thru, schedules preventative maintenance, and prioritizes punch list to correct findings. This includes inspections for the warehouse, front offices, and oversight of RFCs. Problems and remedial actions are reported to the CEO.
The successful candidatemust possess a bachelor’s degree, and/or equivalent years of education and experience. Additional years of related experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree. Must be certified to operate industrial equipment (fork lift, pallet jack, etc.) or be able to pass power industrial certification.
Three years facility management experience is preferable in a food bank or food-related industry with progressive and responsible leadership skills. Trained in OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations and knowledgeable of safety and regulatory compliance issues is required. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
