Why: Join fellow Marylanders for Day to Serve 2017 to restore a native hardwood forest directly within the Loch Raven Reservoir. We will be planting 150 trees within an aging forest where pine stands are dying off. More than 28,000 trees have been planted in the Gunpowder Watershed by enthusiastic GVC volunteers over our 27 year history, and we need your help to plant even more!

Who: We are looking for Adults and Students (age 8 and up; anyone under 17 must be accompanied by a parent) who care about the Earth, our watershed, and the Chesapeake Bay! Do you like being outside in nature and don’t mind working hard? Do you want to earn community service learning hours? Then come and join us, and make a difference for future generations! Volunteers will need to be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 30lbs.

When: RAIN or SHINE! Saturday October 7th. Please arrive by 9:50 am to sign in at registration table. We will start planting at 10:00 am sharp to 1:00 pm.
