EXPERIENCE

2013 - Present:Co-Director, Missouri Education Data Analysis Group. Perform data analysis and school-improvement consulting for school districts and education-related entities.

2001 - Present: Data analyst for Columbia Missouri Public Schools through University of Missouri partnership. Work with district administration to develop ways of looking at student achievement and staff performance to improve student learning. Work with curriculum coordinators to develop district-wide testing programs to improve instruction through incremental assessment. Implement value-added measures for improvement of instructional practices. Perform implementation, analysis and reporting of district-wide perceptual surveys of all students and staff.

1994 - 2013: Research associate and policy analyst for The University of Missouri (retired). Performed data analysis and reporting for the Missouri Dept. of Elementary and Secondary Education for the Missouri School Improvement Program and other departments. Coordinated data gathering, analysis and reporting for the Missouri Census of Technology for DESE. Performed analysis of large-scale assessment, survey and census data for University of Missouri Extension and state agencies. Coordinated data gathering, analysis and reporting for the Missouri eMints program. Developed state-wide achievement growth models.

1987 - 1994: Contract telecommunications installation supervisor for Butler Telecommunications. Installed advanced telecommunications network systems for AT&T, Siemens, and Northern Telecom.

1985 - 1986: Senior Behavior Disorders teacher at Woodhaven School in Columbia, Missouri. This position involved the educational planning and implementation of programs for 12 clients, and the supervision and training of 1 - 3 teaching aids. The primary emphasis of the curriculum was for clients to attain the necessary skills for sheltered employment. Secondary emphasis was placed on independent living skills and developing socially appropriate behaviors.

1982 - 1984: Graduate Research Assistant, Dept. of Special Education, University of Missouri. A research-oriented assistantship developing nationally standardized screening instruments for handicapped students, statistical analysis of instruments from large sample groups using mainframe statistical applications, and research design for several related projects. Taught the L-364 Behavior Management Lab class for two years in conjunction with other assistantship responsibilities.
