The match committee meeting was held on the 8th December 2011 to confirm the dates and venues for the SFCA match programme for 2012.

The following clubs were represented at the meeting

Magiscroft (Ronne McLeod), Orchill Central (Drew McCluskey), Monklands (Darrin Ferguson) and Lanarkshire (John Rae)

The draft calendar was discussed and all dates and venues were confirmed for the 2012 SFCA matches.

Scottish Match Angler of the Year

During the meeting the member clubs discussed the proposal for the new SFCA Match Angler of the Year and it was agreed by all that the new event would be a great addition to the match events for 2012.

At the meeting it was discussed to change the original points scoring as most people felt it was more important to award higher pointsfor bigger events. Please see the table below outlining the scoring system that will be used for points to qualify towards the Match Angler of the Year title:

Points will be awarded in accordance with the table above for any organised match on a Sunday where the results are reported to the SFCA Match Secretary.

Match reports must be sent to the Match Secretary by no later than Tuesday after the matches as the results table will be updated every Wednesday. Results received after this deadline will not count in the overall standings.

The overall winner of the competition will receive a £500 Daiwa Tackle Voucher, trophy and will also qualify for the League of Champions final.

SFCA 2012 Sponsorship

This year the SFCA National match calendar will again be sponsored by leading Scottish based tackle company Daiwa. For 2012 Daiwa will continue to support the Junior National with major tackle prizes for the top three Individuals in both age groups and the League of Champions final the winner will be presented with the Champions trophy and a £1000 tackle voucher for the winner to choose the prizes they wish from the 2012 Daiwa product range.

For all other SFCA events the Federation has secured a further £1500 sponsorship from Daiwa in association with JB Angling Centre Kirkintilloch. The winners of all the following SFCA matches will receive tackle vouchers which can be redeemed at JB Angling Centre for Daiwa products.

Vouchers can be accumulated over the course of the year and can also be used as part payment for goods which have a higher value than the voucher.

Individual membership runs from the 1st April 2012 until 31st March 2013 and costs only £5 for adults, OAP/Registered Disabled £3.50 and free for children under 16 before the 1st April.

If anyone is using a tackle voucher won during the SFCA 2012 season the discount will only be applied to the balance of the purchase price over and above the value of the voucher i.e. Spend £150 - £100 voucher = £50 balance so your discount would be £5.
