I hereby agree that if I am accepted as a volunteer worker for Airline Ambassadors International (“AAI"), I agree to comply with all of the rules and policies which may be established from time to time by AAI. I understand that failure to comply with the rules and policies ofAAI may result in my immediate termination as a volunteer. Further, AAI may terminate my service as a volunteer at any time in its sole discretion for any reason or for no reason.
I understand and agree that if accepted as a volunteer, all services performed by me will be performed on a strictly voluntary basis, and that I will receive no remuneration, pay or compensation of any kind, that I will not be an employee ofAAI nor otherwise receive any health, disability or Workers Compensation or similar insurance or any other benefits normally available to employees of AAI, and that AAI will incur no liability of any nature as a result of my volunteering for AAI. I will not be reimbursed for expenses unless pre-approved byAAI’s President or board of directorsin writing. No personal use of donated items or AAI property is permitted without prior approval. I understand that AAI records are to be kept confidential. I understand that I am not authorized to represent AAI in any official capacity (i.e. in the news media, at public events or in the general public, including via Facebook and other social media) without prior written permission.
I acknowledge that in performing volunteer tasks there exists a risk of injury including physical harm or death, and that all services performed by me will be done solely at my own risk and expense. To the extent that my work for AAI involves travel to countries other than the United States, I represent that I am familiar with the risks of such work, including without limitation to the most recent U.S. State Department travel advisories which can be found at the U.S. State Department web site http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_1764.html Further, I understand that AAI strongly recommends that all of its volunteers serving in countries other than the United States purchase, at their sole expense, foreign medical care and evacuation insurance from a reputable company as AAI does not provide the same. I will at all times refrain from engaging in any work which I am not physically capable of safely performing, which poses a degree of risk that I do not wish to assume or which requires skills or licenses I do not have. Therefore, in consideration of being permitted to serve as a volunteer, I hereby waive, release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmlessAAI and its assigns, successors, agents, staff, officers, board of directors, employees, volunteers, partners, affiliates, service providers, contractors, and representatives from any and all claims, injuries, death, property damage, causes of action, and/or demands of any nature of cause and under any theories whatsoever under the laws of any jurisdiction, including costs and attorney fees, arising out of or relating to my volunteering with AAI, including, but not limited to, wrongful acts and omissions, automobile and other accidents, death or injuries, whether or not arising out of the negligence, carelessness and/or other wrongful conduct of AAI or any other parties. AAI specifically disclaims and I waive my rights to make any claims regarding any and all of the foregoing. Any motor vehicle I use in volunteering forAAI will be insured to the extent required by law and I will not drive without a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
AAI strongly recommends that any AAI volunteers who will travel outside the United States on a mission obtain emergency medical and evacuation insurance from a reliable company, an example of which can be found at https://www.sevencorners.com/insurance/liaisoncontinent/HW7C698. AAI does not provide this insurance but if a volunteer is unable to afford it and so notifies AAI, AAI may, in its discretion, reimburse him/her.
I understand that public relations are an important part of volunteering withAAI. On behalf of myself, my heirs and personal representatives, if accepted as a volunteer, I giveAAI permission to use and publish photographs taken of me as a volunteer for use in its promotional and public relations efforts.
AAI feels it is important for all staff and volunteers to be current on their tetanus and other infectious disease vaccinations as well as other preventive medications and precautions appropriate to the countries and regions in which they serve, as well as to take any other health precautions appropriate for such location(s). I agree to obtain such vaccinations prior to any such service and, if not fully knowledgeable as to the above, to consult with a physician, at my own expense. I release AAI from all responsibility that may occur because of my not being vaccinated or for other health related reasons. I authorize AAI to seek emergency medical treatment in case of injury, accident or illness. I understand that in the event that I am injured or contract any illness while acting as a AAI volunteer that I am not covered by Worker’s Compensation Law or any similar laws or regulations.
I represent and warrant that I am over the age of 18 years. This Agreement is the entire agreement between myself andAAI and may not be modified, nor may any of its provisions be waived, except in a writing signed by AAI’s President.Neither party has made this Agreement in reliance on any representations not expressly stated herein. If this Agreement is translated into any language other than English, the English language version will prevail. The provisions of this Agreement are binding upon myself and my heirs, assigns and successors in interest. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision will be deemed modified to eliminate the invalid portion and as so modified will be deemed a part of this Agreement as though originally included herein This Agreement will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Washington DC, without giving effect to its principles or rules of conflict of laws to the extent such principles or rules would require or permit the application of the laws of another jurisdiction and is deemed to have been entered into and fully performed in Washington D.C., the state and federal courts of which will have sole and exclusive jurisdiction and venue for any claim or suit under this Agreement.
