LVRC ROAD TOACHIM/PS+cyclewear event 3

Event Headquarters: Little Somerford Village hall (966842), Mill Lane, Little Somerford, Wiltshire.

CAR PARKING: A local farmer has very kindly provided a field for parking. Please follow the signs and use it. You will be issued with one raffle ticket per rider on entry through the gate. This will be required with your licence at signing on. No raffle ticket with licence, NO RIDE!

Race and Course Details: PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF ALTERNATIVE COURSE DETAILS DUE TO CLOSURE OF CALLOW HILL BRIDGE AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS BETWEEN LITTLE SOMERFORD AND DAUNTSEY.

Riders assemble at 0950 in the lane outside HQ for pre-race briefing.

Race 1 starts 10:00. Race 2 starts 10:05. Race 3 starts 10:10

Races are neutralised through the village. Turn right out of the lane(M). racing begins with a blast of the car horn from the lead car on exiting the village under the railway bridge.

Proceed to Great Somerford, turn left at crossroads(OS ref:964827) and proceed to Dauntsey, (negotiate narrow S bends with caution after passing village sign) cross over the motorway bridge and turn left into Sodom Lane(M)(OS ref:995816). Proceed to left turn at signpost for Brinkworth and Malmesbury (OS ref:026827), continue to turn right at T junction (OS ref 013837). Climb School Hill into Brinkworth crossing the finish line on the railway bridge for the first time.(( Finish at the fourth crossing of the line)). Turn left at the top of the hill , junction with B4042 (OS ref:013845). Proceed through the village of Brinkworth. Turn left(M)(OS ref:974850) to descend a steep hill to the junction in Little Somerford where Turn left(M)(OS ref:971844) and immediately turn right to complete the circuit.

All races are 3.5 laps=41 miles approx’.

When you finish your race do not stop to turn and recross the finish line. Carry on the race route to the HQ before celebrating or recounting how you “dunnit”. Results will be announced asap.

Signing on:Opens at 08:30. In exchange for your LVRC licence and parking raffle ticket, you will be loaned your race number. You will be returned your LVRC licence in exchange for your number after the race.

There will be a draw of raffle tickets in appreciation of your cooperation regarding parking.

NO Licence and raffle ticket=no number –no ride.

NO helmet-no ride.

Signing on will close at 09:30 to allow any spare places to be filled on the day. Reserves already entered will be given priority before any last minute entries on the day.

Prizes will be awarded in each category ABCDEF: 1st £25 2nd £20 3rd £15 4th £10 5th £5 In category G prizes for 1st and 2nd only. Ladies TBA.

Directions: From M4 junction 16 take the A3102 to Wootton Bassett. At the Coped Hall roundabout take the B4042, follow it past Callow Hill, through Brinkworth and take the first turning left for Little Somerford. At the foot of the hill turn left and immediately right, HQ is on the right just before a railway bridge. On the right after you go under the bridge past the cemetary parking is provided , please do not block the entrances,verges, lanes and track near HQ. Parking in front of HQ should be kept clear for race vehicles. Please take serious note of new parking instructions as we have to share the road with a run taking place at the same time.
