2012 ANZAM Best Doctoral Dissertation Award

Application Form

The purpose of the ANZAM Best Doctoral Dissertation Award is to recognise exceptional doctoral dissertation research in the field of Management undertaken by ANZAM Associate and Professional Members.The winner of the Award is chosen by a selection panel comprising at least 3 members of the Research and Research Development Sub-committee of the ANZAM Board of Directors.

The Award is sponsored by Deakin Graduate School of Business; the prize consists of a cheque for $1,500, a plaque, and a chance to publish in the Journal of Management & Organization (subject to peer review).

To be considered for this award, applicants must:

  • Be a current Associate or Professional Member of ANZAM who has graduated with a doctoral degree up to two years prior to the closing date and not previously submitted for this award
  • Must have held a personal membership of ANZAM (either Associate of Professional) for at least two of the last five years
  • Have completed their thesis within 4 years (full-time equivalent)
  • Be willing to attend and present a paper on the topic of their doctoral research at the full ANZAM conference in the year following their nomination.

In assessing the strength of the award nominations, the selection panel will pay particular attention to the quality of the applicant’sthesis as judged by both the Award Panel and the external examiners, the quality of the thesis summary, and/or the acceptance/publication of papers arising from the thesis in scholarly journals.

Only applications using this form will be considered valid entries for this award

  1. Complete all sections, adhering to sectional instructions
  2. Thesis Summary, 5 pages, single spaced 12pt Times New Roman.(Limit excludes reference list)
  3. Attach all required supporting documents
  4. Proof of enrolment (including start date and date of actual graduation)
  5. Copy of examiners’ reports
  6. *pdf version of the completed thesis
  7. No other attachments will be accepted.
  8. Save application form: Surname_Given.doc (*.pdf will also be accepted)
  9. Submit completed application form (and attachments) to the ANZAM Secretariat at no later thanFriday 28 September 2012. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
