Life Has Its Tests

By M.S.Lowndes

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on youto test you, as though something strange were happening to you. -1 Peter 4: 12(NIV)

Life has times of hardship, struggles, trials, temptations, despair, loneliness and heartbreak. We all go through times like these from time to time. There is a saying that goes 'Life is a bed of Roses' implying that it is easy and sweet. There is probably a lot of truth in that - considering the 'thorns', but it is far from easy and sweet. A prick from a thorn can be painful! God can use what we go through to rely on Him more and build our character to be Christ-like.

So yes, I guess life can be like a bed of roses - but we need to be mindful of the thorns.

There are tests in life. The thorns are there, but so is the rose.

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

James 1:2-4
