The Observations about Last Month
for January 2017
The thoughts below talk about the numerological and energetic rhythms that surfaced in “December 2016”. They also link to the Observations about This Month, which outline what “January”s likely to bring. Both sets of narratives connect to the Observations about This Year. All up, these three dialogues offer intuitive “more” when they’re read at the same time.

“December 2016” helped us to realise more “2102/5”
…. which was “2016”s reality number. With two “2”s featuring, what we were to realise by year’s end would involve themes of relationship. With “December” being the last month of the year and cycle, the spiritual outcomes were due to revolve around fit. You may have experienced more people stuff in your world (which is easy to say given “December” can be “party time”). People often let their hair down at holiday time, irrespective of how that occurs. With this can come forgetfulness - even dismissal - of the needs of others nearby. “December 2016” delivered four “3”s as well, which were due to promote such rhythms (see below). Hence, it’s possible that such things featured more, this last “December”, than usual.
With two “2”s appearing in “2102” - and eight “2”s in “December”s chart - you may have noticed inter-nation-al issues heightening, too. “November”, of course, brought the US elections and, with that, the start of a different phase. “December 2016” saw relationships globally also stirred up. Again, such things could be said in any moment but last month seemed to heighten dynamics like this. As noted in the Observations about This Year, changes in leadership can trigger curious things. With one way of doing business ending in America, narrators and nations used the moment to convey messages. Statements re position - looking back and looking forward - emerged louder and more often. The testing of boundaries, new and old, also featured so, if you experienced this too, you’re not alone.
“5” also presented specifically in “December 2016”s reality number. “5” triggers change - the need for it and the phenomenon - often in ways that challenge expectations. “5”s shifts in gear can manifest in unsettling, unpleasant or distressing ways. They can also appear to utterly delight us - “Surprise!” and “Grow!” can be strong calls in “5” zones. It’s all about change - the need for it and the dynamic - spiritually, perceptually and on physical levels. Here, last month’s “2”s also set us up for friction as the need for change (and flexibility) surfaced again. What’s happened in the US since its elections is just one example. “5” can make things hyper energetically, fostering stress, tension, etc. It can, in imbalance, see (more) people (more) ungrounded or imbalanced. “5”, here, functions to highlight what we’re channelling egoically via moments of “out of control”. Via self, other beings or world events, “5” can nudge us slightly off-centre. “5”, as a vibe, can promote reactivity; less faith or trust in life (Source), even panic. In this sense, “5” is a person’s, entity’s or country’s fear of the unknown. This is a “normal” and natural response whenever life emerges counter to plan. Yet, “5” phases can highlight where confidence in self, life and Source is wavering. Last month brought instances where people were challenged to trust - to another degree - in life and hold to optimism and faith. Bombings, earthquakes and political uncertainty - to name a few examples - are the types of waves can appear when “5” repeats in a numerological chart. If life asked you (or others) to stay strong and be (more) adaptable, this may be why.
“5” also marks the process of evolution; change that enhances strength and maturity. Whilst it can be a reasonably wobbly time, “5” usually heightens our practical good bits. “5” can seem harsh when it first enters, often unexpected and unwanted. Yet, as we realign (following an initial shock), we often find “5” helping us greatly. “5” is forgive; it’s also adaptability - i.e. rolling with whatever comes our way. That doesn’t need to see us surrendering or over-riding essential (core) needs or values. In this sense, “5” manifests as a reminder that we’ll float well if we focus on the right stuff. “5” can manifest like a wave that’s sure to dunk us (because we’ve never experienced one “like that”). It often arrives to challenge our knowledge (and faith in) self and life generally. Knowing such things, doesn’t automatically erase “5”s challenge (but it can function to minimise it). Source and egoic energies always have another “trick” that, somehow, delivers a surprise or two. “5”, however, teaches us - in practical ways - how to use our breath; keep the faith; and allow all the good vibes to flow as they can now. As we release all egoic frequencies - our own and other beings’ - and all they entail, “5” often shifts to remind us that “I can do it if anyone can”.
“December” brought four “3”s to contend with
… with “3” representing expression and flow. “3” is the vibe that promotes creativity - artistic, vocational, energetic. “3”, in this sense, can partner with “5” dynamics to embrace our sense of flow. How things play out and what helps them to unfold productively can be themes at such times. “3” is the question, “What are you putting out there?” - i.e. encouraging or generating day-to-day. On thought, feeling, energetic or active levels, “3” helps us sense how life wants to blossom now. “3” can highlight the process of manifesting; it also reveals what results from any (re-) action - formally, recreationally, energetically or via forecasts (i.e. affirmations). “3”, therefore - like “8” - focuses our attention upon the ingredients lists we’re honouring. As a vibe or period, “3” unites with “5” dynamics to help us “get things (and life) more “right”.
Four “3”s, last month, were likely to heighten the amount of intuitive help we received. “3”, as expression, can raise a person’s awareness of energetic and invisible realities. “3”, in this sense, can denote the utterances from higher to unconscious self; it can find us realising more potently or often. “3”, in this sense, is the self expressing to self; getting “it” so that it can be expressed outwards. Here, four “3”s could have helped people to realise (and digest) many a thing. With “2016/9” resonating in the background - i.e. the final throes of the current nine-year zone - “December 2016” could have brought greater clarity into your world.
“3” is creating so, in another sense, it can highlight how we can manifest better in the long-term. To what degree did you, last month, seem more capable of attracting the right stuff? “3” can be “flow” in any form or variety - cash flow; processes; energy; things. These sorts of issues - what “I” co-create or attract - certainly featured during “December”. “3”, in this light, doesn’t only focus upon an individual’s current reality. It also tends to help us appreciate the types of flow we want ahead.
“3” symbolises intuitive downloads, too, so it can see all sorts of messages coming through. Again, with last year closing off a nine-year cycle, you may have experienced such things. If you sensed a louder call to reflect upon where you’ve been or where you’re going, this may be why. “December”, as the last month of the current nine-year cycle, had the potential to heighten such dynamics. Last month could have seen you sensing more about what lies ahead and realising that “it” is (more) possible (than before) . “3”, being flow - the state of it and what affects it - at the end of a cycle can be really affirming.
Looking ahead for “2017”
Well, the new year’s here and it’s due to be an interesting time - i.e. in ways we sense and benefit from. It’s also the first year in our new nine-year cycle, which will enhance whatever occurs. I write about collective vibes and issues below (not about your chart specifically).

“December” closed upon closure
With “2016” being a “9” year, you may have sealed certain chapters for good. You may have noticed some issues flagged for you to address in the times ahead. This is noteworthy given this year’s numerology - i.e. “90/9” still features in the M.O (all year long!). With this, attending to and concluding things should continue for a while. This year won’t repeat on last, however - “9” featured in “2016”s birth number (not the M.O.). Last year, we learned “9” - how it functions and how to become it. From this month onwards, we’ll be asked to apply “9”s lessons. We always do this as new chapters open and close, but “9”s appearance in “2017”s chart hints at more productivity around “9” (as and when we release all eogic tendencies and embrace essential self again). In this sense, “December” heightened whatever it did to help us begin this new nine-year cycle in a solid way. This month’s numerology - for “January 2017” - reinforces this Observation (so make sure you read/hear them!).
You know, “9” being “closure” can find us resisting or resenting what life ushers in. With last year’s M.O. (“86/5”) and reality number (“2102/5”), such responses were possible. “2016” pushed and pulled people, often in the areas of health, balance and life’s pace. Sickness, death, injury and the need for rest were powerful themes. “5” and “8” can press us over and over; they can make us tired (given their relentless demands). “December 2016” triggered the potential for life to stretch people (yet again!). “5” and “8” can ask us to deliver to spec, so patience, endurance and optimism can be required. Here, again, was where “December 2016” could have flagged what lies ahead on your path. On the other hand, you may have found last month showing you (more clearly) what you need to get “there”. The final moments of “2016/9” helped people to clarify their “real” life goals. This could have morphed out of brand new perspectives or an enhancement of what you already sensed and knew.
As a mark of closure, “9” often steers people to tidy up acts and become better organised. When it acts like this, “9” can feel like a pain in the toosh, with “3”s, “5”s and “8”s (all active numbers) making this more likely. “9” can appear as if we have some homework to do just when we prefer otherwise. Here, “9” can feel like a penalty zone (i.e. nothing we celebrate when it appears). “9”, like any other number, tends to address long-term dynamics; what’s really required to realise our dreams. It often sees a person feeling as if s/he’s being led (and, perhaps, grumbling at the same time). When it acts like this, life reveals more about the egoic self as it can play out day-to-day. Limited “I” never sees around corners so well (yet it’s so sure that it can!) Here comes the “9”, steering us towards true(-r) and more inclusive destinies. Egoic “I” can, when “9” first presents, be sure of itself and its actions. “9” then appears counter to expectations - especially when “5” is about - to challenge, mentor and help individuals learn, grow and shift through things. As we do this, we often find “9” is our ally (more than it had seemed at first). “9” really is closure that’s good for you, with a value we can sense (but don’t always like or enjoy). After an entire year of balancing out, healing, caring and dealing with things, some people were feeling tired. Here is where “9” unfolds like all other numbers to remind us that Source never punishes true (essential) self. It can seem to ignore our dreams, needs and ambitions when, in fact, it’s helping us to fulfil them. In this sense, “9” is a phase we often come to appreciate as our fog starts to clear. With “9” presenting this year as how we’ll arrive at “2017”, these Observations are worth noting.
“9“ can impart a sense that we’re being prepared
…. i.e. embarking upon something interesting or important. This is worth noting as we start this new “1” zone because, at “1”, we can feel as if we’ve done all we needed to. With “9” appearing in “2017”s chart, this is also worth noting - “9” can leave us ready for action; its passive nature can help us re-energise. With this, can come an expectation that life’s going to slipstream moving forward. Here, “9” can set us up for “1” challenges around what “I” think, need and want (next). By gearing us up, unconsciously, in this way, “9” stretches “1” (self) again. With “1”s and “9”s manifesting in this new year, these two vibes may seem to dosey-do. If you find struggle, at times, with slowdowns then spurts ahead, the remedy might lie in last month and year.
Globally, a few things have manifested to stir us up in recent times. The need for new ways of doing, thinking and be(hav)ing is growing louder. In one sense, “all” that humans are facing is the emergence of a brand new dawn. This didn’t begin in “2016” but last year did reinforce it. Many of our struggles economically and practically derive from the fact that the world’s changing fast. The models that many were schooled and born into are no longer as relevant. Worldwide, we’re seeing all sorts of empires collapsing - familial, societal, business as well. The way we go about things is being challenged (and I’m not the first to observe this). I type this here because “December 2016” promoted such dialogues, too. The need for humanity to share and get along less exclusively was (and is) an underlying issue. Media commentaries also spoke of this more often and it, certainly, played out in physical spheres. Where governments and economists have announced “inevitable” closures, it’s possible they’ve got it wrong. So many policies, reasonably, still link to the industrial model (which has served millions well). As times have passed, the tendency has been to assume that “we can’t” when, in fact, we actually can! “2016”, years before and years ahead don’t necessarily signal inevitable death or demise. It’s not “what” we’re doing - it’s more “how” we’re able to do it (and that’s being questioned increasingly). Within this, “December 2016” continued to inform us about how to respect Earth, nature and humankind. Where previous world orders may prefer more of the same, the reality is that we have to evolve. Promotion and respect for all self within a country (let alone a globe) is a key theme - i.e. not just the interests of the more established, vocal, educated or well-known. All need the other and no nation needs to look to outsiders as saviours or Source. Employment, economies and cash flow require the support of everyone as having an equal value. Any industry can succeed if it’s supported - even non-profits (as seen in New York). In the times ahead, we’ll see more of a focus here - e.g. how do we create employment (not just dictate the terms)? The ability to manifest - however a soul is called to - also featured as a theme last month. An industry isn’t dead unless a nation won’t support it; few markets have birthed (or need to exist) in “mass” form. The issue isn’t whether anyone can make a living doing whatever s/he really loves (however s/he can); it’s whether s/he (and his/her community) allows that to happen. With many of us born towards the end of last century, we’re highly conditioned in frameworks which, in itself, doesn’t need to be devalued. It can, however, present in people and decisions as “manifesting laziness”. Enter “2017” and “January” to continue challenging these sorts of things. A new world order is emerging - like it or not - and every soul can play a maximised part in that process. This is how numerology currently speaks of every self realising - i.e. coming to know and be fully - what s/he is here to, then adjusting, then acting upon whatever s/he’s learned. Did “December” remind you of such things?
