Havana, January 7-10th, 2004

Havana International Conference Center

Dear Colleague:

The Havana Instituto de Filosofía is pleased to invite you to participate in the Second Biennial International Seminar on the Philosophical, Epistemological and Methodological Implications of Complexity Theory, COMPLEXITY-2004 on January 7-10th, 2004 at the Havana International Convention Center.

This International Congress is organized by the Complexity Cathedra of the Havana Instituto de Filosofía and is co-sponsored by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA, according to the Spanish acronym) and the Academy of Sciences of Cuba.

SCIENTIFIC EVENTS COMPRISED IN THE CONGRESS

Parallel Workshop on Complex Biological Systems.

.

The Parallel Workshop on Complex Biological Systems is co-sponsored besides by the Cuban Centre for Molecular Inmunology, the Cuban Neuroscience Centre, the Cuban Research Institute on Tropical Fruits, the Cuban `C. J. Finlay´ Centre for Vaccine Research, Development and Production, the Cuban Ecology and Systematics Institute, the Cuban Societies of Zoology and Botanics, and the Cuban MAB-UNESCO Commitee.

The Congress will be an appropriate place to discuss jointly the most transcendental challenges in this actual and important new field of Knowledge. After a very successful First Biennial Seminar on January 2002 that hosted participants from 15 countries of 5 continents, we shall meet again to exchange ideas on a wide variety of aspects of this trans-disciplinary field. This scientific meeting has among other objectives that of encouraging thinking on the scope and range of this promising Complexity approach. And in its Parallel Workshop on Complex Biological Systems it will analyze their most significant characteristics.

It will be a great pleasure to have you with us during our Congress, and to welcome you cordially and warmly in our hospitable country.

At the Web page of the Congress: www.filosofia.cu/complejidad/index.html, you may find a complete information. Nevertheless, we are sending some important details.
