Region 4 Works Council Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
Committee chair, Ms. Sascha Harrell called the meeting to order at 1:35pm. Ms. Harrell welcomed the committee and asked for introductions. She noted that she would like to additional Council members from other occupational areas such as health care. Members from the public introduce themselves.
Minutes Approval
Meeting minutes from February 26, 2014meeting were reviewed. Andy Baker moved to approve the minutes. Sue Ann Ford seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Submission of Questions
Ms Harrell thanked all members for their flexibility in dealing with the last meeting cancellation due to weather. Due to the cancellation, she was appreciative of those who posted responses to the Career Council questions posted on Google Docs. With the assistance of several members, she was able to compile the answers and submit to the Career Council. She provide copies of the final responses.
CTE Awareness Grant
Jim Woolf reviewed the CTE Awareness Grant requirements and recommended activities for Region 4. Council members discussed the proposed activities and made recommendation for grant modifications. Ms. Harrell will forward a copy of the finalized grant to Council members. Ms. Harrell recommended that Jim Woolf serve as the Project Director. Additional grant committee members will include Andy Baker, Diane McKinley, Brad Rhorer, and Pam Rager.
Innovation Grant
Ms. Harrell reviewed the purpose of the grant. She has a rubric for evaluation that includes criteria provided by the state and additional regional criteria as identified in previous regional reports. A timeline for grant review was discussed. Region 4 submission targets were established.
