Library collections

The Library provides books, periodicals, audiovisual material and online resources that support the learning and research needs of students and faculty. To find materials in the library, students need to consult with the Library Catalog from the AUA website at: http://library.aua.am/

Online References and Databases

The library subscribes to online, fully searchable collections of high quality e-books and e-journals. A complete list of all online resources can be found on our website at: http://libguides.aua.am/content.php?pid=541436

Additional Resources

“Moodle” is a learning platform or course management system (CMS). http://moodle.aua.am/

“Turnitin” is a plagiarism detection tool that can be accessed directly from the Library page at: http://library.aua.am/ . It is also an excellent assignment collection, grading, and feedback tool.

”RefManager” is an online research management, writing and citation tool. http://library.aua.am/research-help/citation-tools/ It is designed to help students easily gather, manage, store and share information, as well as generate citations from online databases such as EBSCO, JSTOR, etc., library catalog and other sources.

“Koha” Journal Finder offers a central access point for electronic journals of the AUA Library at http://jf.aua.am/

Library Services

Borrowing of materials. The loan period of AUA Faculty is one semester, maximum items –20.

Reserve. Faculty may place on reserve a textbook and other reading material for students in library use.

Information Literacy/Library Instruction. Library offers library instructions, guided tours and in-class orientations throughout the academic year , generally upon the request of a faculty member. The request form is available at http://library.aua.am/library-instruction-session-calendar/

ILL/Interlibrary Document Delivery supply. Library staff will obtain journal articles and/or book chapters that are not held in the library. http://library.aua.am/interlibrary-loan/

Library provides 17 laptops for library use, 100 tablets for use in classrooms, B&W printer/copier/scanner.

Facilities

The library provides off-campus access to the different online resources using your university username and password at: at: http://library.aua.am/off-campus-access/ . Library offers a welcoming, comfortable, and state-of-the art learning environment:

·  180 seats in two large halls

·  15 individual carrels

·  7 group study rooms with large LCD screens

·  Collaborative Study Space at Agbabian Hall

·  Library Instruction Lab
