DN-V760 NETWORK AUDIO/VISUAL PLAYER
— With its 40 GB hard drive, the DN-V760
joins the Compact Flash DN-V750 Network Audio/Visual Player,
providing system integrators and contractors a total digital signagesolution —
INFOCOMM, LAS VEGAS, NV, June 8, 2005 — D&M Professional, the parent company of Denon Professional, introduces its flagship DN-V760 Network Audio/Visual Player. The new DN-V760 joins Denon’s DN-V750 in providing system integrators and contractors with a complete visual messaging solution. Designed to meet the increasing demand for digital signage multimedia solutions for theme parks, museums, kiosks, shopping malls and other commercial applications where high-quality, high-reliability, customized video playback is desired, the DN-V760 offers extensive playback capabilities through its built-in 40 GB hard drive and its expanded range of compatible formats. In addition to its brand new, user-friendly, embedded web interface, for off-site playback scheduling and maintenance, the DN-V760’s network capabilities make it one of the easiest signage appliances to integrate into a visual messaging installation. The DN-V760 also features an embedded CIFS (common internet file sharing) server that provides the user true drag-and-drop content uploads, and an RS-232 port for integrated onsite system control. The new DN-V760 was developed based on direct feedback from leading contractors and visual messaging consultants in the field and reflects Denon Professional’s ongoing commitment to providing the video contracting/fixed installation industry with leading-edge products.
The DN-V760 Network Audio/Visual Player is a compact 8.6" W (220 mm) x 1.7" H (44 mm) x 10.6" D (270 mm) unit that plays MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video files at bit-rates that surpass DVD-quality. Still pictures can be easily uploaded for signage or presentation. For audio, the DN-V760 offers MPEG-1 (Audio Layer II, III) audio playback, and can even play uncompressed 16-bit PCM WAV files at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz. The DN-V760 features a 40 GB internal hard drive (expandable to 137 GB) which can store up to eight hours of DVD-quality video. Lower bit-rates can be used to further extend video playtime. Alternatively, thousands of photographs or graphics (.MPI, .JPG) and hours of CD-quality audio, or any combination thereof can be stored, deleted or updated. Files for multiple presentations can be stored, and “playlist files” can direct the DN-V760 what to play and when to play it from onsite within the same building or remotely across the country.
Media Transfer has never been easier than with the DN-V760. The user is able to upload MPEG video, still pictures, WAV and other media directly from a computer via the DN-V760’s built-in CIFS server. Plus, the embedded web-based browser application streamlines the scheduling of playlists and user settings. An option is provided for automatically generating a log file containing a list of which content was played and when.
The DN-V760 offers contractors a wide range of control options. In addition to easy-to-use front-panel controls and onscreen display, customized control surfaces can be created using the parallel connection. A 15-pin D-sub connector offers switch-closure control of major functions for kiosk applications, while a 9-pin RS-232C serial port allows standardized serial control. Built-in Ethernet support provides easy integration into an IP-based network. The
DN-V760 automatically assigns itself an IP address that does not conflict with the connecting computer or other devices on the network.
A networked DN-V760 couldn’t be easier to set up. The first time a unit is booted, it will automatically join the network. Using the standard file system on a Windows PC or a Macintosh®, all connected DN-V760 units appear as networked hard drives to the computer. Units can be renamed, and opened into a standard web browser for familiar navigation and instant file management. With the browser, the user can quickly create, modify, play and store playlists to the internal hard drive. Content can also be previewed on the connected display using the browser. When the DN-V760 is connected to a network with internet access, it will automatically update its internal clock to the current date and time.
The DN-V750 Network Audio Visual Player offers many of the same features as the DN-V760 but employs a PCM-CIA card slot instead of an internal hard drive. Any standard PCM-CIA hard drive (or other storage device) can be used for virtually unlimited removable storage.
