Dear Centricity™ Customer:

We are pleased to announce the September Full Knowledge Baseand September Codeupdates are now available for download and installation. *Note: The September Full Knowledge Base only applies to CPS Chart Module users.

On 10/1/16 the 2017 World Health Organization’s (WHO) updated ICD-10-CM codes sets changes become effective. Three hundred eleven codes are no longer active, 425 include description revisions, and 2305 have been newly added. Find a complete listing of 2017 new, and inactive codes here. ( also refer to our loading codes guide( for updating your practice management system.

A special note about CPS Chart Module searching, custom lists, and forms:

Full Reference Search

  • All codes returned in a given search are in alphabetical order and new codes will display with the book description.
  • Inactive codes will have text added at the end of the problem description that the code is “Not Billable after 10/1/2016”.
  • Inactive codes will be kept active in EMR following the October 1st date, to ensure patient charts can be completed for dates of service prior to October 1st.
  • Searching for the newly added 2305 codes has slightly changed. Searching by acronyms, abbreviations, or other common terms is not yet fully supported. To locate new codes using the full reference search, type either the partial or full numbers or book description names to optimize search results.

Advanced Specificity Problem Search

  • Only active problem codes are returned for selections to be added to a patient’s problem list.
  • On October 1st, inactive codes will no longer be returned in search results regardless of date of service.

Smart List

  • Smart list functionality has not changed.
  • The smart list rebuilds problems as a preference once selected by the provider (4) or more times across unique patient charts.
  • Inactive codes may be present on a provider’s smart list until preferences rebuild.

Problem Custom Lists

  • As a best practice, custom lists should be reviewed for inactive codes and revised manually as required.
  • All problem custom lists updates implement real-time upon edit.

CCC & Other Forms

  • CCC and other forms in use containing diagnosis codes such as Problems-CCC should be reviewed for inactive codes and text files revised as required.
