MOE’S & POE Garden Contest

Garden Grant Entry

Moe’s Southwest Grill and the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education are pleased to announce a grant opportunity for Triangle area elementary schools. Moe’s and Poe will offer two $1,000 grants to support a garden for two Triangle area elementary schools (one grant will be for a school with an existing garden, and the other grant for a school to start their first garden). Poe Center staff will visit winning elementary schools to help children learn about where foods come from and the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables on a daily basis.

Contest Schedule:

·  Entry deadline: Sunday, April 13, 2014

·  Finalist voting on Triangle Moe’s Facebook Page: April 21 – 30, 2014

·  Winners announced: May 2, 2014

Grant Eligibility:

  1. Elementary Schools in the Triangle, grades K-5
  2. Must be over the age of 18 to submit application

To Submit: Complete the Garden Grant Entry and return to any Triangle area Moe’s Southwest Grill location, the Poe Center for Health Education OR submit the application online at www.poehealth.org.

The Garden Grant Committee will review all applications and select the top 10 finalists/schools to vote for 2 winning schools.

Finalists will be featured on Moe’s Triangle Facebook page and the Poe Center Facebook Page. Voting for the winning schools will take place on the
