AliMed partners with GHX—reduces healthcare costs, increases efficiency
Dedham, MA, June 14, 2011—AliMed Inc. has selected technology solutions from GHX (Global Healthcare Exchange), a healthcare technology company that uses cloud computing to deliver supply chain management software solutions and services, in an effort to help reduce costs and increase efficiencies for hospitals and other healthcare organizations. GHX links suppliers, providers and group purchasing organizations (GPOs) through a neutral electronic trading exchange that automates and streamlines the purchasing process. GHX research shows an average cost reduction of 76 percent per purchase order placed through the exchange, versus manual orders.
In addition, the partnership opens the door for 3,900 GHX hospital members to select and purchase products from AliMed through the GHX exchange with electronic access to AliMed’s entire selection of 77,000 plus products. According to GHX, healthcare providers and suppliers that partnered with GHX saved over $730 million in supply chain savings in 2010 alone.
