Mission

The mission of the Woodridge Track & Field team is to lead, train, and develop young men to compete on all levels in track & field. Woodridge Track & Field will commit to developing athletes as strong leaders in the school by supporting and assisting them to achieve at the highest levels academically,athletically, and socially.

Philosophy

The philosophy of the Woodridge Track and Field Program is for each athlete to learn a greater knowledge of the importance of track and field, and how it relates to other sports. We also want to instill the value of individual hard work which enhances the ultimate goal of being a part of a team sport.

Conduct

Student athletes have the responsibility to serve as positive role models and representatives of Woodridge and New Caney Independent School District.

Woodridge Track Guidelines

  1. Students will only be allowed to miss three practices during track season.
  2. Lost or damaged equipment is the responsibility of each athlete.
  3. Personal items are the responsibility of each athlete.
  4. If students are not riding the bus back with the team, parents are expected to sign athletes out during or after a track meet.
  5. In case of bad weather at a meet, we will always report back to the bus with a coach. Parents will be notified.
  6. Late Pick-Up Policy: Practice ends at 5:30 p.m. Any athlete being picked up after 6:00 p.m. will be considered late. After three late pick-ups, your child could be dismissed from the team.

Woodridge Track Goals

  • Give all participants an opportunity to be successful
  • Develop a quality Middle School track program
  • Win the Team District Title

NOTES:

  • Woodridge Forest will host a meet on February 22, 2016 @ PHS.
  • Practice Time: WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE TRACK PRACTICE Monday- Friday with the exception of Track Meet days, Monday, Feb. 15 and Friday, Feb. 26, 2016/Spartan Relays H.S.

(If there is a change in time or weather we will notify parents.)

  • Athletes may not participate in all meets. Every week athletes compete for positions. We can only enter a select number of athletes in each event.
  • Parent Meeting will be held February 4 at 5:45 in the gym.
