EIGHTH DEPARTMENT - FLOWER AND HORTICULTURE SHOW

1.  All entries can be made using one of the following options:

a.  Online entries – see online entry instructions, online entry deadline midnight July 11, 2015.

b.  Mail in entries must be received in the fair office no later than July 11, 2015.

2.  All entry forms must be complete including participant’s signed release. Unsigned or incomplete forms will not be processed.

3.  Entry fee: $1.00 per entry for adult classes. Entry fees are non-refundable.

4.  All adult class exhibitors must purchase a season pass ($20.00) or membership ticket ($25.00). Membership tickets can only be sold to Franklin County residents and include voting privileges for FCAS Board Members.

5.  Departments 7, 8, 10 vehicle pass may be purchased for $15.00.

6.  Youth, up to age 17, may enter the Junior classes in section 11 at no charge. There are no premium payouts in this section - ribbons only will be awarded. Youth /Junior exhibitors may also enter adult classes under adult rules and entry fees.

7.  All exhibits must be grown by the exhibitor.

8.  Exhibitors may enter three (3) entries per class maximum.

9.  All cut flower exhibits are to be displayed in clear containers provided by exhibitor; Saran Wrap or cotton maybe used for staging.

10.  Any work on exhibits must be done before placing on shelves.

11.  All exhibits must be in position no later than 12:00 pm on the day of the show (Saturday, July 18, 2015).

12.  The exhibitor has the responsibility for correct classification of entries and propercompletion of entry tag.

13.  No class changes will be permitted on the day of the show.

14.  Entry tags may be picked up at the Secretary's Office prior to exhibit drop off and must be securely attached to container, not the specimen. Entry tags for paid entries will be available in the Edwards Building only on Thursday, July 16, 2015 between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

15.  Judging will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, July 18, 2015.

16.  The committee reserves the right to combine, divide or cancel classes if the number of entries warrant.

17.  The decision of the judges will be final.

18.  An entry may be given a downgraded placing (award) if the judge feels the item is not of expected quality. If only one entry is in the class, the judge can downgrade or give no placing (award) if the item is not of expected quality.

19.  Entries may be picked up on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 after 10:00am. Entries not picked up before 5:00pm become the property of FCAS. You must have claim check to pick up entries.

20.  As classes and rules may change on a yearly basis, it is the responsibility of the exhibitor to read and understand currently offered classes and rules and to meet the stated requirements for entry.

Judges will consider the following:

1.  Foliage/Stem: unless specified, foliage should be present so that judge may decide quality of cultural perfection.Foliage below water level may be removed. Specimens should be disbudded.

2.  All specimens and plants should be clean.

3.  Particular attention should be given to proper grooming, correct labeling, and size of container in relation to size of exhibit.
