We Have a Dream…
Next week, we will be talking about the important events and people during the Civil Rights Movement. The students will learn about Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks. I will be reading many different read-alouds that tie in with the Civil Rights Movement.
This afternoon, in your child’s folder, you will see a dove that will be on the return to school side of his or her folder. The students created their own dream doves in class today. The students will be bringing home another dove for their family to complete. Please follow the student’s example and come up with a dream your entire family has. It can be any kind of dream! After you fill out the dove together, please have your child decorate this dove. Both doves will need to be turned back in to me on Monday, Jan. 25th.
