METHODIST RECORDER: I am continuing to take out an annual subscription on behalf of SMC because it offers us a wider view of Methodism nationally and worldwide – e.g. a lot about Asbury recently and now about the EU Referendum. A recent issue (still on table) has a supplement issued by the Joint Public Issues team of four mainstream churches (i.e. Baptist Union, URC, Church of Scotland and Methodists) re the Referendum for reflection and debate. Now there are follow-up letters. Individual issues remain on the table for approx 3 weeks - not just for table decoration but for reading!

Coffee Bar Volunteers Needed

The rota for manning the coffee bar is now short of volunteers and this is causing concern that we may not be able to man the coffee bar on a daily basis as we have done in the past. We have decided to display the list, with the days we need help, on the notice board by the coffee bar in the welcome area, and ask that you to look to see if you are able to help on a particular morning. If so, please fill in your name in the vacant box. Weare not asking for a regular commitment, but for you to help as and when you feel you are able. Any help would be much appreciated.

Wendy or Sue will be happy to show you the ropes. If we find we have any mornings without a volunteer for the coming week, the days will be announced in church by the steward as a reminder to people and if no one puts their name down by the end of Sunday coffee it will mean that the coffee bar unfortunately will be closed for those days.
