RESOLUTION NO. 2016-52
A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOXAHATCHEE GROVES, FLORIDA, APPROVING CHANGE ORDERS #1, #2, #3 AND #4 FOR “B” ROAD PAVEMENT SURFACING, TO HARDRIVES OF DELRAY, INC. d/b/a HARDRIVES, INC., FOR A NEW TOTAL CONTRACT PRICE OF $1,125,555.80; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, at the meeting on April 5, 2016, the Town Council adopted Resolution No. 2016-13, awarding Bid No. 2016-001 for “B” Road Pavement Surfacing to Hardrives of Delray, Inc. d/b/a Hardrives, Inc., in the amount of $1,033,008.80; and
WHEREAS, while implementing this project, several issues and/or additional work required have come to the attention of Staff, the Town Engineers and the Contractor, which have necessitated changes to the original contract; and
WHEREAS, Change Order #1 would modify the proposed structure S-16 and tie into an existing drainage pipe at 1812 B Road; and
WHEREAS, Change Order #2 would change the installation of asphalt from 1.5” Type S-III to 2” Type S-III, for an increase of $58,422.00, for a new total contract price of $1,091,430.80; and
WHEREAS, Change Order #3 would add 6” double yellow thermoplastic striping and 6” white thermoplastic edge line to B Road, for an increase of $32,342.00, for a new total contract price of $1,123,772.80; and
WHEREAS, Change Order #4 would add stop bars with 6” double yellow thermoplastic striping, RPM signs, stop signs, street blades, for an increase of $1,783.00, for a new total contract price of $1,125,555.80; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds it in the best interests of the Town to approve Change Orders #1, #2, #3 and #4 from Hardrives, Inc., pursuant to the recommendation of the Town Engineer and the Town Manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOXAHATCHEE GROVES, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Each “WHEREAS” clause set forth above is true and correct and herein incorporated by this reference.
Section 2. The Town Council hereby approves Change Order #1; Change Order #2 in the amount of $58,422.00; Change Order #3 in the amount of $32,342.00, and Change Order #4 in the amount of $2,783.00, for a new total project contract amount of $1,125,555.80. Funds have been budgeted through the Capital Improvement Fund.
Section 3. The Mayor and appropriate Town Officials are hereby authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to complete these Change Orders, and the Town Clerk is instructed to deliver a copy of the signed Change Orders to Hardrives of Delray, Inc. d/b/a Hardrives, Inc., along with a certified copy of this Resolution.
Section 4. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its adoption.
