Dear Colleague,

The Arizona Nurses Association (AzNA) invites you to submit an application for the poster session at Symposium, October 24th, 2014 at the Mesa Marriott. The purpose of this session is to share information and exchange knowledge with other nursing professionals. The theme of Symposium is “Care Coordination Across the Continuum: The Challenge of the Decade and Beyond."

The three poster categories are:

  • Research
  • Evidence-based Practice
  • Practice Innovation/Improvement

The process for participation is listed below:

  1. Submit abstract to the AzNA office by August 22, 2014 by 5pm (close of AzNA offices). Note: ALL sections of the application must be completed. Incomplete applications will be returned.
  2. Acceptance letters will be emailed by September 15, 2014.
  3. Apdf or ppt of your actual, completed poster is due for submission by 5:00 p.m., on October 15, 2014 for judging purposes. Poster pdf/ppt submitted past this deadline will not be eligible for judging or any subsequent awards at the symposium on October 24, 2014.
  4. Registrationand attendance is required for all poster presenters. You can register online at

All abstracts will be evaluated through a blinded, peer-reviewed process with acceptance based on evaluation criteria (see guidelines). Accepted posters will be eligible for a peer-reviewed poster judging that will occur PRIOR to the Symposium on October 24th, with awards presented to recognize outstanding posters in each of the three poster categories the day of the Symposium.

2014SymposiumPoster Session Guidelines

  1. Symposiumregistration is required for all poster presenters.
  2. Presenters requesting to be considered are required to submit a completed Poster Submission Application and abstract no later than August 22, 2014by 5pm (close of AzNA offices) .
  3. Poster abstractsshould include the following information, not to exceed 250 words.Include all of the requested information on the Poster Submission Application, do not send attachments.
  • Objective, purpose, or aim of the project.
  • Description of the innovation/improvement, research, or evidence-based practice.
  • Outcomes achieved, if applicable.
  • Relevance to nursing.

Additional Instructions for Accepted Poster Presenters

  1. Posters MUST be set up by 7:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24th and taken down by 4:30 p.m.Presenters are required to be present with their poster to answer questions and engage in discussion with participants during designated times, as determined by the program schedule.
  2. The displays provided for hanging posters are PVC frames with a foam poster board in a landscape orientation 3’ x 6’. We will have T- pins available for mounting to the AzNA displays.
  3. You may also bring your own free-standing table-top display (tri-fold, without any PVC frame) that fits on one six foot table. If you prefer to bring your own free-standing poster, please email so we can have a table available.
