What is the Summer Institute?
TheThink&EatGreen@School 2014Summer Institute will grow the vision and capacity of school staff, students, staff and school communities to collaborativelydevelop healthy and sustainable food systems at their school. This three-day experiential conference will host a combination of plenaries and hands on workshops focusing on different components of the school food system: food gardens and orchards; composting and waste management; food procurement;food preparation and consumption; innovations in teaching and learning; and school food policies. Working with others in our school communities is an important part of making lasting change possible. As such, we are asking that people try to come as part of schoolwide-teams: teachers, administrators, support staff and/or community partners. As space is limited, those registering in teams are offered a discount and will be given preference.
There is astream for high school youth leadersat this year’s Summer Institute. If you know youth that might be interested in attending please have them contact or apply directly here.
