E-209

Shift Request:

One shift is 8 hours long. There are three shifts per day- owl (midnight-8am), day (8am-4pm) and swing (4pm-midnight).

Switching beam configurations can take a few hours so if multiple configurations are included in your run-plan, the time should be accounted for in your request.

To minimize time spent changing configurations, we prefer to block shifts together as changing from one experiment to another typically involves a configuration change that takes time away from doing science.

Number of shifts requested: / 18 shifts
Preference for number of shifts in a single continuous block: / 9 shifts
Preference for time between blocks of shifts: / Near beginning and end of run, preferably after E200>2 months

15 minutes for a CTR scan at each config.
Additional Comments / We need the beam to be as straight as possible and no tail or tilt to the bunch.
Will use emittance spoiling foil.
In general exact beam parameters are not so important, but we want to vary them by factors of ~2 / We need the beam to be as straight as possible and no tail or tilt to the bunch.
Will use emittance spoiling foil.
Use jaw collimator as a self modulation instability seed. We will want to vary the length of the ramped cut bunch (no cut, ~1/4 cut, 1/2cut, or continuous).
