Be able to interpret the data and identify and use various types of graph formats (line, bar, histogram, circle or pie).
Understand the design mechanics in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and be able to set up and input data into the spreadsheet.

Performance Task</SPAN / / / / · Students will research various types of data that would yield measures of central tendency (i.e. mean, median, and mode).
· Students will practice creating Excel spreadsheets, including identifying data cells that are based on algebraic functions utilizing given cells.
· Students will select one set of real world data and create an Excel spreadsheet to identify the mean, mode, median, and range. Students must identify the source of their data.
· Students will use the Excel program to display the same set of data in graph form.
· Students will investigate algebraic functions as they relate to Microsoft Excel and to discover if there are any limitations within Excel.

Were the columns and rows labeled correctly using grammar, punctuation, spelling and capitalization rules?
Creativity (10 points)
Was the data represented in a clear, interesting, and appealing way? Were the graphs visually appealing? Was the spreadsheet easy to read understand?
