Class Supplies: One8 1/2" x 11" single subject spiral notebook (~100 pages), due by Friday, August 25th.
- Students will use the spiral for Texas History only and it will remainin my classroom (unless taken home to study).This spiral will be used for note taking, activities, and daily assignments. Spirals should also be used as a study tool before tests. Students are expected to keep their notebook organized and up-to-date.

Grading Policy:
- Major Grades (Tests and projects) worth 40% of overall grade
- Quiz Grades (Quizzes, current event assignments) worth 25% of overall grade
- Daily Grades (In-class work, vocabulary) worth 25% of overall grade
- Completion Grades (notebook checks, warm up checks, class participation) worth 10% of overall grade
Late Work:In accordance with all teachers at Gorzycki Middle School, the following late work policy will be used:
- 5 points off for each day the assignment is late, with a maximum deduction of 50 points after the 10th day
- Additionally, failing grades may be corrected to receive a maximum of 70% on that assignment.
Make Up Work: Students who miss class due to an excused absence will have up to three school days to complete their work. After the third day, the late policy will go into effect.

Technology Policy
Gorzycki is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) campus, and we will use technology on a regular basis in this class. Students may bring (but are not required to bring) their own personal devices to class. However, students are only to use these devices as instructed and in accordance with the conditions outlined in the GMS student planner.
Google Classroom
Many class assignments will be accessed and completed through Google Classroom. Students will be invited to join my Google Classroom account through their AISD email address, and we will go through a tutorial in class. Students will have the opportunity to submit assignments and receive these graded assignments through Google Classroom. I encourage students and parents to visit Google Classroom often to ensure assignments are completed by their deadlines. Additionally, all assignments will also be posted on my Gorzycki website under the orange “To Do” tab.
