2014 National Mine Rescue Competition
CONTEST INFORMATION:
The Central Kentucky Mine Rescue Association, Carmeuse Lime and Stone, the Kentucky Crushed Stone Association and Joseph A. Holmes Association are pleased to announce the 2014 National Metal and Nonmetal Mine Rescue contest will be held on August 4 - 7, 2014 in Lexington, KY. We would like to take this opportunity to personally invite you to participate.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) will provide the field, written and technical problems for this event. MSHA will judge the competition events and determine the competition winners. The contest will be comprised of four events: 1) Field Contest; 2) Technician Team; 3) First Aid, 4) Team Trainer test. Each event will include a written examination. The competition will take place at the Lexington Convention Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: Note if more or less than 40 teams enter the number of teams for each location will change.
Day 1: Monday, August 4, 2014
8:00 am – 3:00 pm Equipment Drop off- High Street
Registration for Teams and Team Draw for Position- Lobby area outside of Bluegrass Ballroom 1
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Written Test in Bluegrass Ballroom 2
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Social Function- Lobby area outside of Bluegrass Ballroom 1 & 2
Day 2: Tuesday, August 5, 2014
7:00 am – Field Competition in Heritage Hall
Team Isolation for Teams 1-21 in Heritage Ballroom 1, 2 & 3 and Teams 22-40 in Ballroom 1

REGISTRATION:
The registration fee for participation in the Metal and Nonmetal 2014 National Mine Rescue Contest is $1500.00 per team which includes ten (10) Awards Banquet tickets at no additional cost. If you need additional banquet tickets; the cost per ticket will be $50.00 which includes tax and gruitity. The tickets will be available for pick up during registration. If you wish to have your team picture in the 2014 National Mine Rescue Contest Program, you must provide a color digital photo along with you entry form or e-mail to no later than May 30, 2014. Early entry is encouraged to ensure accurate planning and smooth coordination for the competition. Equipment can be shipped to the Lexington Convention Center. Each individual company is responsible for contacting them directly at 859-233-4567 to arrange their own shipment and to coordinate delivery.
