Dear Parents and Carers
Re: Primary Places Consultation
As many of you will know, the Local Authority (LA) have agreed to go outfor a period of further consultation regarding the proposal to expand Ecclesall Infants to become a through primary school. A period of formal consultation led by the authority will take place after the local elections. We anticipate that this will be late May to early June and more details will follow.

At present the school is liaising with the LA regarding many aspects of the proposal but in particularwith regards the consultation process, the options for accommodating a Junior phase on the site, how this will actually become a reality and also the requirements for accommodating a third Foundation stage class from September 2016 as part of the temporary expansion whilst the final decisions are made.

The latter iscurrently the focus of discussions due to the timescales involved. This is likely to be in the form of a temporary modular classroom located adjacent to the playground near the Playpod although this is yet to be finalised. Our additional 30 Reception children will have Lions present classroom and one Y2 class will be in the modular building. The school and Governing body are working with the LA to ensure this and any further building works will have minimal impact on our children’s education and the local residents.
There is a lot for the school, its pupils and their families and the local community to get to grips with and we will continue to keep you informed of discussions as and when we know more and are able to do so. We hope this is helpful for the time being.
Kind Regards
