Mandalas are “sacred circles,” created as a religious practice in Asia. Swiss psychiatrist C.G. Jung found that mandalas created by himself and his patients held information about hidden parts of the self. Opening to the imagery in your mandalas helps you engage with your journey to wholeness, andgrow toward fulfilling your potential. Strengths and talents you are not used to claiming as your own are often hidden from your awareness. To learn that these qualities are part of you can be enlightening and empowering. You can discover these in the symbols that emerge through creating mandalas.Best of all, mandalascan help you “center” and feel more at one with yourself.
Take part in this two day exploration of mandalas for your own creative enjoyment, relaxation, meaningful learning, and deepening self-awareness. Creative self-expression will alternate with presentations about Jungian psychology and sacred geometry. No need to be an artist. Instructions about use of art materials and step-by-step guidance for creating seven mandalas will be provided. Each mandala will focus on a different facet of the simple, yet complex, subject of mandalas. Participants will develop tools to use mandalas in continuing self-discovery.
