The Cheerleaders took 1st Place for the UCA Nationals in Orlando, Florida.

Wrestling – Sports Rep Cara Smith

The Varsity wrestling team finished the regular season with a 12-7 record. Unfortunately, there were some matches that were cancelled due to weather and school closures that were unable to be rescheduled.
The team had an impressive win against higher ranked Warren Hills at this year’s Gold Rush. The Blue Gym was renamed on 1/18/13 as “The Hutch” in honor of Dan Hutchins in an emotional ceremony. Kody Eichlin was chosen as the DV wrestler of the match by the NH coaches at the conclusion of the DV/NH match. He will also be presented with a scholarship at his senior awards night courtesy of the DV wrestling foundation. Senior night was held on February 4th. Seven wrestlers and one statistician were honored.
Because of the strength of schedule, the team qualified for the Sectionals once again this year. They have a first round bye and will be hosting Raritan on Wednesday evening at 7 pm. A win on Wednesday will mean a spot in the Finals on Friday.
The Pre-Varsity squad will be traveling to Raritan HS for one last tournament this Saturday. For the Varsity squad, the Groups begin on Sunday, followed by Regions beginning on February 22 and Districts on February 23rd. Any wrestlers that qualify for States will travel to Atlantic City from March 8-10th.
