National Co-Op Scholarship Program

The Telluride Scholarship

Description: The MBTAis a residential scholarship house at the University of Michigan operating on the three pillars of intellectual inquiry, community service, and self-governance. MEA Scholarship

Description: Several scholarships will be awarded to young men and women that are a dependent of MEA member or MEA-Retired member in good standing and a graduate of a Michigan public high school or private high school that has an MEA bargaining unit. Student must have plans to attend an undergraduate program of a Michigan public community/junior college, four-year degree-granting institution, or vocational training institution that grants a degree, certification or license. Those attending the following private institutions ONLY are also eligible: Baker College-Flint/Owosso; University of Detroit–Mercy; Adrian College; Finlandia University; and Albion College. (The aforementioned private institutions are existing local MEA affiliates.) Priority is given on the basis of: Academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, school and community service, and students from lower income households.

Society of Women Engineers- Detroit Scholarship

Description: Must be a female in their senior year of high school in Michigan and enrolling at a university or college for fall term 2018. Shelby Lions Club Academic and Community Service Scholarships

Description: Four $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who meet the following eligibility requirements and are selected by the Shelby Township Lions Scholarship Committee. Student must be a graduating HS senior with a 2.5 GPA or higher, reside in Shelby Twp. and attend public school. Erin Teirney Memorial Scholarship

Amount: Two $750 scholarships will be awarded to a male and a female senior from Eisenhower High School.

Closing Date: Applications must be submitted to Mr. McEvoy by 3:00 p.m. Friday March 2nd, 2018.

Description: Must be a full-time student and have attended at least one full year at Eisenhower High School. Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA and able to demonstrate above average citizenship and attendance. Two letters of recommendation are required: one from an Eisenhower teacher and one from a non-family member who has worked or volunteered with the student outside of school. Essay required. Lois Holtgren-GorblickiSchoalrship

Closing Date: Applications for the Lois Holtgren-Groblicki Scholarship will be accepted until 1:00 PM on Monday, March 5, 2018.

Description: This scholarship is for Eisenhower High School female seniors ONLY. The candidate must be a female senior who has attended one full year at Eisenhower High School at the time the application is submitted. Student must be majoring in mathematics, science or related field, live at home while attending a local community college or university, and have a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 grading scale with no failing semester grades. Student selected for the scholarship must be agreeable to submit a photo and interview with a local newspaper if the Foundation can make arrangements. Friends of Macomb Scholarship 2018

Amount: Six $1,000 onetime only scholarships

Description: This scholarship is available to graduating seniors who are currently residents of Macomb Township. Ban R Barbat, DDS-PC Scholarship 2018

Description: For students interested in pursuing a career in a health-related field. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.8 (please attach transcript), verification that student has been accepted by a college or university, minimum two letters of recommendation at least one of which must be from a current teacher. The David Barns Scholarship

Amount: Two $2,500 awards

Description: David’s Faith & Hope for Life Foundation is pleased to offer high school seniors attending high school in Genesee, Lapeer, Oakland, or Macomb counties in Michigan our fifth annual scholarship created in honor of David. The David Barns Scholarship will be awarded to a male and female high school senior that best represent David’s academic excellence, athletic prowess, and commitment to the community. The scholarship will provide $2,500 of financial assistance for college tuition. Additionally, the scholarship is eligible for renewal for three years, assuming good academic standing, continued community involvement, and a service commitment to the Foundation.

The Shelby Township Oratorical Contest

Fred and Lena Meijer Scholarship

Description:The Fred and Lena Meijer Scholarship is a private scholarship fund established by Fred and Lena Meijer in 1975 for children of Meijer team members and enhanced in 2010 to include Meijer Team Members. The scholarship is for undergraduate study at an educational institution or training school within the United States. Scholarship awards are determined by the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, a non-profit agency. To be considered for an award, the application form must be completed and submitted online by 5 PM April 1. Applicants must be a current Meijer team member who has been employed with at least one year of continuous service on the application deadline and will be attending college/university or technical school either full or part time. Description: For graduating seniors who are children of eligible Michigan Teamsters members. Student must have strong scholastic performance while in high school or significant academic improvement in each successive year, achieving the equivalent of a B average at graduation. Student should demonstrate exemplary qualities of leadership in school, extra-curricular activities, and the community. Class rank is an important factor in the selection process. However, extenuating circumstances are also considered. Application or acceptance as a full-time, first-year student at an accredited post-secondary educational certificate/degree program; e.g., a four-year or two-year public/private college or university, a two-year technical college, or other accredited educational institution located in Michigan.

Jeptha Wade Schureman Scholarship

Description: For fatherless children (either through death or permanent termination of parental rights) who are residents of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lenawee, Monroe, Livingston, Washtenaw or St. Clair counties and want to pursue majors or careers in nursing, law, dentistry or medicine. Applicants must demonstrate strong scholastic performance while in high school or college with an equivalent of a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Applicants must demonstrate leadership and character through extracurricular activities, service in school and community, volunteer involvement and paid work experience.

Helen Tallman Fund Scholarship

Description: Through her estate gift, Ms. Tallman requested that a portion of awards from the Fund support scholarships for Wayne State University students who are majoring in engineering fields or pre-medical/medical fields. Robby Atherton Foundation IKE Basketball and Varsity Athlete Scholarships

Description: The Robby Atherton Foundation Scholarship has been established in memory of Robby Atherton, IKE Class of 2004.
