C: Yeah. Her last movie was especially good. It’s probably one of my favorites of all time.
R: Actually, I didn’t see that, but I heard it was just OK.
C: Well, I’ll call the theater and find out what time the movie starts. Hello, Could you tell me what time theHalleBerry movie is playing tonight? Oh, really? Oh, OK. Thank You won’t believe this. It’s not showing anymore. It just finished playing last night.
R: Oh, no!
C: I guess we’re back where we started! Why don’t we just see what’s on TV tonight.,
R: That’s fine with me.

1. M: What did you think of the new Stephen King book?
W: Oh! Once I got started, I couldn’t stop reading. I stayed up till 4:00 in the morning to finish it!
M: And wasn’t the ending great?
W: Yeah, it really was! Such a surprise! And the whole story moved along so fast, too!
2. W: How did you like the movie?
M: Well, I walked out after half an hour.
W: You did?
M: Yeah, it was so dull that I started falling asleep!
W: Oh, really? He’s usually pretty good.
M: Well, not in this movie. I wish he’d choose better ones.
3. M1: What did you think of that documentary aboutAustralia?
M2: I learned so much! I didn’t know they had so many different kinds of animals there. And the photography!
M1: Yeah, it was something, wasn’t it?
M 2: Uh-huh, it was pretty amazing. It made me really want to go there and see it for myself.
4. W 1: Have you read that book that just came out about UFOs?
W2: Yeah. What a waste of time! Just the same silly stuff about visitors to Earth from other planets.
W1: Uh-huh. It said absolutely nothing new.
W 2: You know, I’m sick of hearing stories about little green creatures. If they’re real, how come no one can ever take a picture of them?

P: Welcome to a Night at the Movies! I’m Pauline Kahn…
C: And I’m Colin Hale. Good evening!
P: Tonight we’re going to review the new James Bond film. Well, I really liked this new James Bond actor very, very much!
C: Mm-hmm.
P: He’s the best actor that’s ever had the role—warm, human, even funny. A totally believable character.
C: I have to agree, a perfect 007 type. Pauline, what did you think of the story?
P: It was a standard story for a Bond movie…uh, the usual beautiful women, the usual evil villain—nothing new.
C: Well, I’m surprised. I have to say that I thought the story was unusually good. The racecar scenes were exciting, and the surprise ending was great.
P: Well, I can’t agree with you there.
C: Really? What did you think about the photography?
P: I wasn’t very impressed at all by the photography. Everything looked fake, not real. I can’t believe it was actually filmed in Africa, where the story took place.
C: I can’t believe you! I haven’t seen such good photography in a long time, especially in the action scenes.
P: Now that brings up another weakness in the film: the special effects. Again, it’s just the same old stuff…the car that flies, the pen that’s really gun. You get tired of that thing.
C: I’d hardly think you and I saw the same movie, Pauline. I have to say that the special effects were the best ever in a Bond film. For example, the scene where—
P: Excuse me, Colin. We’re going to have to break for a commercial.
C: You’re right. Pauline. We’ll be right back with our ratings.
B.
P: So, Colin, how do you rate the new James Bond movie that we’ve reviewed this week.
C: well, Pauline, I’d have to say tat I’m proud to give this movie my highest rating…four stars…and I would like to encourage everyone to go and see it soon! How about you, Pauline? You did like the new actor who plays James Bond.
P: That part’s true, Colin: however, I have to give the move only two stars…a rating of “fair.”
C: Hmm. Well, that’ all from us tonight. See you next week.
