- Publicity for their movie night
- Motion to fund – 4,0,0
2. SOS Branch
- Motion to zero tropical lights – 5,0,0
3. KDSAP
- Dunk tank advertisement?
- Have not funded this type of advertisement for other groups before
- Aditi – only fund 50 for intro food and 15 for publicity for intro meetings
- Pierre – said that this is going to be publicity for his group
- Keshav – if this is separate from the kidney screening, then makes no sense to fund. Would make more sense if were together
- Motion to zero – 5,0,0
4. Resurrect
- Can’t move event to the 6th, so has to be zeroed
- Motion to zero – 5,0,0
5. 301 Branch
- George – should make the group pick 2 of the 3 items they are going to sue the money to make
- Pierre – can prioritize what they will buy w the money allocated
- Motion to zero water guns – 5,0,0
6. Will (music)
- Pierre brought in 2 students interested in music studio equip/w some knowledge about recording and production
- They think that some items are overpriced
- Jacob – think that we need this caliber type equipment
- Do not need THIS good quality, but do need better equipment
- Diminishing return for these equipment
- Manny – can provide studio w an upgrade for a lower cost?
- 2 people are on board of newly created Amherst Band association
- Say that they have a diff proposal w some overlap
- Could be spending less money for same amount of equipment or could be spending same amount for money to benefit both recording and live aspect of recording
- Many items on the list from before unnecessarily high cost
- Keshav – based on what they know, do they think there will be a demand for this type of quality?
- No
- Jacob – did say that they quality is very high so will last for years and cost will amortize over the years
- Pierre – how many people would you estimate would use this?
- Would say there are no more than 20-30 people who are qualified to use the recording room and probably less than 10 people who use the room regularly
- They’re pushing for something that is similar to the D-Vault room
- Not allowed people to remove materials from D-Vault room, so no equipment for Amherst students to use for performances unless associated to music dept possibly
- Would like to have a regulated system w equipment available to be borrowed by students
- Keshav – would be good to help improve the music production/recording room, but should not fund this this sem. Should not be a conversation for this sem only. Could do a straw poll on campus, etc.
- Manny – should invest in the interest of the students to get this type of equipment, especially considering the amount of money we give to Art Steele for rentals
- Motion to zero – 5,0,0
