Course Description

This course is designed to motivate young people to be better citizens. It is a cooperative effort on the part of the Army and Pebblebrook High School to give cadets an opportunity for total development and improve themselves in many ways. JROTC teaches self-discipline, confidence, and pride in a job well done. It also offers cadets challenges and opportunities:

  • Set a positive example by leading effectively.
  • Promote and encourage citizenship through participation in community service projects.
  • Develop cadet leadership potential in and out of JROTC.
  • Strengthen cadet self-esteem.
  • Improve cadet physical fitness.
  • Develop a greater sense of pride in our nation.
  • Promote graduation from high school and develop a solid foundation for career development.

Course Expectations

  • Complete ALL classroom assignments
  • Show respect for instructor and other students
  • Be prepared and on time for class.
  • WEAR THE JROTC UNIFORM WITH RESPECT ALL DAY ON UNIFORM DAYS (THURSDAYS).
  • Learn as much as possible about Leadership and Commitment by volunteering for extra curriculum activities such as Courtesy Patrol at games (clean up), Drill Team, Color Guard, Honor Guard, Raider Team, etc.

Class Rules

  • Class leader dismisses class
  • Cadets will do push ups/ receive counseling/ receive In School Suspension (ISS) for tardiness and other actions.
  • No earrings (males)
  • Males can not wear the uniform with Braids. Therefore, cadets can not be promoted. They also can not participate in after schools activities with Braids.
  • No hats in class
  • No Cell Phones and MP3 Players/IPOD during class time

SPECIAL NOTE TO STUDENTS:

You are now the mid and upper level leaders in JROTC. You will be held to a higher standard in and out of JROTC. Be prepared to lead by example on the very first day of class, because your future subordinates will be observing your actions on day one. Lastly, always keep up the Falcon Battalion Motto “PROUD TO BE HERE”
