SECTION 12 OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ACT 1999

This document is provided to assist community members to make a submission to Council regarding the key issues being addressed under the current elector representation review. Interested persons should take the opportunity to read the Representation Review Report prior to making a submission; and are encouraged to provide any additional relevant comments.
At its meeting on the 17th February, 2017, the District Council of Loxton Waikerie agreed in principle to the following:
1.  The Principal Member of Council continues to be a Mayor, elected by the community.
2.  The existing “no wards” structure be retained.
3.  The future elected body of Council continue to comprise a total of ten (10) area councillors (excluding the Mayor).
4.  The current name of Council be retained.
