Zoning Configuration Information
------
InteropAutoSave True
DefaultZone FalseTRUE for SB5000
DiscardInactive False / InteropAutoSave -
True (default) – enables the saving of changes to the active zone set in the switch’s non-volatile memory.
False –disabling the saving of changes to the active zone set can be useful in some specialized configurations where it is desirable to have the switch loose all zoning information through a reset or power cycle and then reacquire the current zoning from a core switch in the fabric.
DefaultVisibility-
All -- (factory default) if there is no zoning configured, *all* members have *visibility* to others.
None -- if there is no zoning configured, *no* (none) members have *visibility* to others. This is how Brocade switches operate – there must be a zone created for devices to find each other.
DiscardInactive –
false (default) -- The QLogic switch keeps unassigned zones and places them in an "orphan zoneset" to allow a user who inadvertently removes a zone or zoneset to later recover it.
Over time as a user discards zones, the QLogic switch will accumulate unassigned zoning till the zoning limits of the switch are reached.
At this point the QLogic switch will accept no additional zoning changes propagated from the McData switch and an error will be posted.
True – unassigned zoning configuration received inband from another switch will be discarded.
DefaultZone (6.x) -
True (default SB5000) - all unzoned devices are in the orphan zone and can see each other
False (default SB9000) - all unzoned devices are isolated.
Troubleshooting – check these settings if there problems with devices finding other devices or if there is a zone merge failure due to the switch exceeding the zoning limits.

Causes of a zone merge failureand/or an ISL link to isolate:
- A zone on each switch with same name but different members.
- The zone merge results in one or both of the switches exceeding one of the zoning limits (see zoning limits command above)
- duplicate domain IDs between switches
- The R_A_TOV and E_D_TOV values must be the same on all switches.
- The InteropMode must be identical on all switches.
