TRIANGLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION

1. There will be a $5.00 admission for the following conference tournaments: Boys/Girls Varsity and JV Basketball, Swimming, and Wrestling. There will be a $3.00 admission charge for the Track & Field conference championship meet. TISAC students will be admitted for Free with student ID.

2. A conference school hosting a TISAC tournament will be responsible for paying the expenses of a conference tournament and will be reimbursed for officials, security, support personnel and furnishing supplies for the hospitality room. Net revenue generated from the tournament is then submitted to the conference treasurer.

3. The TISAC will pay up to $150.00 for the hospitality room expense during conference and/or State tournaments that are hosted by a conference school.

4. The ejection/suspension rule is in effect for all sports at all levels. Any player or coach ejected or disqualified from a contest will be suspended from playing or coaching in the next scheduled contest. Players serving a suspension may sit on the bench but may not dress. A coach serving a suspension may not attend the contest. A $100 fine will be assessed should a coach be ejected from any game. Any coach who is ineligible due to an ejection will be fined $500 if he/she attempts to coach or to attend a subsequent game. See NCISAA regulations for additional information.

5.  Since the TISAC automatic birth into NCISAA tournaments is determined by the results of conference tournaments in volleyball and basketball, the completion of the conference tournament will take priority over the regular season. In the case of multiple rainouts/cancellations it may become necessary to NOT play all regular season games in order to play the conference tournament as scheduled. In such cases, seeding for the conference tournaments will be based on head to head matchups. If this does not resolve the seeding, winning percentage will be used.

6.  In the event of a conference tournament NOT being completed due to multiple rainouts, the automatic birth into NCISAA tournaments will be determined by regular season standings. The conference president must have knowledge of and approve such a circumstance.

7.  Prestige cup points will be awarded based on regular season standings. In the event of ties, Prestige Cup points will be split between the tied schools.

8.  The maximum grade level for all JV teams is 11th grade. Seniors are not eligible to participate on JV teams.

TRIANGLE INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

PRESTIGE CUP

Athletic Directors, upon the formation of The Triangle Independent Schools Athletic Conference, established the Prestige Cup. The Prestige Cup is awarded at the conclusion of each school year to a member school in honor of the boys and girls programs that accumulate the most points through varsity team results. These points are awarded based on regular season standings throughout the school year. The girls Prestige Cup is named in honor of Mary Lou Jones, a longtime coach and athletic director at Saint Mary’s School.

The formula for determining Prestige Cup points is as follows:

Girls: Since there are six member schools, the first place finisher in regular season in any girls sport is awarded 7 points. Second place will receive 5 points on down to 1 point to the last place finisher in any sport.

Boys: Since there are five member schools, the first place finisher in the regular season in any boys sport is awarded 6 points. Second place will receive 4 points on down to 1 point to the last place finisher in any sport.

Point totals are tallied for each season in both boys and girls sports and a final tally is made at the end of the spring season to determine the winners of the Prestige Cup.

In the event of having less than the maximum number of schools participating in any given sport, points are adjusted to fit the number of schools participating in the conference in that sport. Example: In lacrosse there are only 3 schools participating so the points would be awarded at 4 for first place, 2 for second place and 1 for third place.
