LOCATION
The hotel is based in the stylish tourist area of the bustling town of Southend-on Sea, just 65km east of
London. Based on the Western Esplanade, the hotel is ideally located for accessing all the cultural and
natural highlights that Southend has to offer. Overlooking the mouth of the Thames, the Hotel is just a

SATURDAY 21 MAY: PARTY NIGHT IN THE HOTEL’S PALACE BALLROOM. The meal tonight is a 2-Course Hot Buffet & Desert (varied and filling menu – drinks not included) with vegetarian option, followed by a disco. There will be a SEATING PLAN and foodwill be served from 8pm.
CAR PARKING: There is a multi-storey car park directly opposite the Hotel’s Entrance. Hotel guests
can take advantage of the special ‘Residents Evening Rate’ of £5 per night between
the hours of 5pm – 9am (£10 for full day). There is also an open air car park next
door to the Multi-Storey which is a little cheaper for a full day.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL INSTRUCTORS
Please make it very clear to all students who are competing that they must attend fully the mornings’Training Course. Anyone found leaving the mat earlyto rest, or arriving once the Training Course has finished,will be barred from competing in the afternoon.
SPECTATORS: Please make sure your spectators purchase their tickets beforehand as
they will not be able to do so on the day. In the past, we have experienced spectators trying to gain entrance withoutpaying and just turning up on the day. This is most unfair to the rest of us and
ticketswill be checked.
COMPETITION CATAGORIES

RANDOM ATTACKS
Normal rules apply. This category is determined by belt grade, and weights are not required. Opponents will be judged as always on the “Street Effectiveness” of their techniques and all round awareness. Each competitor should attend the competition with an attacker of their choice(no more than 2 grades above) but, remember, no signalling is allowed.THERE WILL BE NO PEWEE RANDOM CATEGORY.
SUMO: There will be a Sumo contest for 5-7 yrs (weight categories will apply)
