One-In-Five Certification Process for Chapter Recording Secretaries

Except for members with Platinum, or provisory status, active members are required to attend and participate in a minimum of one (1) National Assembly or one (1) Area Conference in her Area every five-year period (1 in 5) to maintain membership in The Links, Incorporated. Alumna members are not required to meet the one-in-five certification as only active members are required to do so. A member who fails to attend either her Area Conference or a National Assembly within her currently applicable five (5) year period shall forfeit her membership in The Links, Incorporated.

Each year of the five-year period, the Chapter, Area and National Secretaries will ensure that all information in the Chapter Member's Membership Profiles is verified and updated to reflect attendance at Area Conferences and National Assemblies by implementing the following procedures:

Chapter RecordingSecretary Runs One-in-Five Certification Report

COMPLETION DATE: October 30th

The Chapter RecordingSecretary will run a One-in-Five Certification Report from the Membership Management System no later than October 30th of each program year. The Chapter RecordingSecretary will distribute this report to all chapter members to verify the accuracy of their Area Conference and National Assembly attendance reflected in their profiles.

Chapter Members Alert Chapter Recording Secretary of Discrepancies

COMPLETION DATE: November 30th

Chapter members alert the Chapter RecordingSecretary of any discrepancies in their Area Conference or National Assembly attendance no later than November 30th of the program year.

Chapter RecordingSecretary Sends Discrepancies toArea Secretaries

COMPLETION DATE: December 15th

The Chapter RecordingSecretary will send any discrepancies reported by the chapter member to theArea Secretary by December 15th of the program year. TheArea Secretary will work with the National Recording Secretaryto verify and update themember's profile in the Membership Management System no later than December 20th of the program year.

Chapter RecordingSecretary SendsOne-in-Five Certification Report to theChapter Vice President of Membership and Area Secretary (in Years 3 through 5)

COMPLETION DATE: December 30th

The Chapter RecordingSecretary will provide an accurateOne-in-Five Certification Report to theChapter Vice President of Membership byDecember 30th of the program year.

TheChapter RecordingSecretary will submit theDecember report of those members not yet meeting their One-in-Five attendance requirement to theArea Secretary. The One-in-Five Report will bereviewed by the Area and National Secretaries, who will submit thereport to the National Vice President andArea Vice Directors. (Years 3 through 5). The National Recording Secretary and National Vice President will send reminder letters to those members who have not met their One-in-Five Certification requirement before January 30th of the program year.
