BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
Quorum met all Board members present.
Minutes for the July 12, 2012 membership meeting were read.
Treasures report – Chip Barry advised a $ 50,000 bond was paid to the county of Albemarle for work on lower range. We will not get money back until the job is completed including landscaping. Income is down slightly for June cash flow is OK, Chip projected $ 200,000 should be in treasurer by February 2013, see attached for details.

Report of committees
Membership – Mike Johnson reported there are now 1385 members of the RRPC see attached report for details.
Paul Benneche will work with Mike on membership.
Safety – Robert Gettleman
The safety committee approved a UVA Fast Gun Invitational event for Friday October 5, 2012 & Saturday October 6, 2012 presented by Andy Stevens, see attached for details. Shot gun fields will be closed on this Saturday. MOTION TO ACCEPT MADE BY LUKE WRIGHT, SECONDED BY DAVE WHITE AND APPROVED.
The Activities Reservation Request form is to be used by all disciplines to reserve ranges.
Training – Bob Schmidt advised no change in schedule.
Building & Grounds- Steve Sandow advised many fallen trees must be cut up and removed; work parties will be called to complete this work.
Carlos volunteered to cut up trees and remove wood.
Bylaws changes – Mike Johnson
Mike reported a Bylaw proposal must be read at the membership meeting to be accepted for voting. Present Bylaws indicate guidelines that must be followed to make changes. Mike has 2 Bylaw submissions at the present time in writing, all Bylaws change requests must be received and read at the September membership meeting, then mailed and published 30 days before the November meeting at which time they will be voted on.
Policies & Procedures – Dave White
Luther Morris, Mike Johnson & Dave White has been reviewing past minutes to determine changes needed.
Old Business
Dave Foky reported work on lower range sidewalls between ranges must extend beyond firing line at 100-yard range, up to the white shed between the Rifle and APT ranges. The 300-yard range will be the last construction site. It may be possible to get approval from the county to extend the 100-yard berm on bulls eye range.
Dave White advised about replacing grass on lower range. The RRPC must have grass in place on all portions of ranges before bond will be returned. Jesse Davis suggested Hydro seeding for ranges. R. E. Lee or Townson may be able to complete this, but at additional cost.
Chip Barry will be paying a bill for $ 39,300 for material and work thus far
completed on lower range.
Bob Bossi suggested we close all ranges until construction equipment and material are removed.
Bob Schmidt asked for permission for IDPA to conduct meet on the weekend of their regular meet. IDPA safety officers will make sure range is safe. Ranges will be closed for any other shooting on the weekends unless approved by board and safety officers present.
Luke Wright reported he would talk about dedicated server space next month.
Fun Day needs to be cancelled this year due to lower range construction
advised David Foky, all board members agreed.
Robert Gettleman requested signs be posted on all lower ranges informing people not to handle firearms when someone is down range. MOTION MADE BY LUKE WRIGHT AND SECONDED BY CARLOS SANTILLAN AND PASSED.
Tom Templeton reported new bench rests have been completed and in place on the lower range.
Life Member policy will remain as is.
New Business
Due to the passing of John Decker a voting member position was open and Tom Willis was voted in to fill this spot. MOTION MADE BY LUKE WRIGHT AND SECONDED BY ROBERT GETTLEMAN AND APPROVED.
Dave White asked to change the name of NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE to NOMINATIONS AND ELECTIONS COMMITTEE. MOTION MADE BY DAVE WHITE, SECONDED BY BOB SCHMIDT AND APPROVED.
Bob Schmidt asked to check cameras due to tree damage. Dave White and Chris Poole will check camera system.
Jesse Davis asked for use of clubhouse and one skeet field for Friday night
September 28, 2012 and 8:00-3:00 Saturday 29, 2012 for Albemarle County Continuing Education Skeet Class.
