2012 APWA Florida Chapter Awards Program

Every year the Florida Chapter recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of our members. The Chapter does this through Florida Chapter and National APWA awards. A list of the various awards can be found on the Chapter’s website. This year will usher in an entirely new way of submitting awards for National consideration. ALL award submissions are to be submitted electronically this year! There are different forms for the Florida Chapter awards and for the awards that can also be submitted for National consideration. Check both the Florida Chapter and the National APWA web sites for the forms to use for the various awards. Look for more information about the submittal process as National rolls out the new format this year.

The deadline for submission of all award nominations will be February 1, 2012. Submit both types of awards (Florida and National) to Don Jacobovitz, the Florida Chapter Awards Chairman. Contact Don if you would like to serve on the Florida Chapter Awards Committee. All Chapter Award winners who also qualify for the same National Award categories will automatically be considered for submittal for National Awards.

The Florida Chapter proudly enjoys a reputation for deservedly earning the National Presidential Award for Chapter Excellence or the PACE Award as it is most commonly known. This award was established to recognize chapters for contributions made to positively impact their membership, profession, and community. Chapters are judged on membership, service to chapter members, advancement of public works, and service to the community. If you or your branch have conducted or plan to accomplish any activities this year that represent these types of activities, let Don know so they can be included in our overall Florida Chapter achievements

Don can be contacted at the Public Works Department of Putnam County at P.O. Box 310, East Palatka, Florida 32131-0310, phone 386-329-0346, fax 386-329-0340, or e-mail .
