STATION TWO: The Classroom Supply Center – Helping Yourself

  1. Any work turned in after the due date requires a late assignment form to help track why work is coming in late. It is necessary to complete this form when you are absent, forget your homework, fail to complete it on time or use your late assignment pass. This form is the color ______. STATION THREE: The Reading Record, Study Hall and ELT

How many minutes are you expected to read each week?

You will log your minutes using the Reading Record Log sheets that you will keep in your ______. English is about communication and part of effective communication is keeping a neat and fully completed log. Make sure you follow all directions. Simply completing the minute requirement will not earn you full credit if you do not follow directions.

Reading assigned as homework can count towards your Reading Record minutes. It will also be necessary for you to choose your own books to read because homework is not always a reading assignment. In addition, you must complete a short ______every ______using one of the books you have read independently. If time allows, we will visit the library during class but you should also plan to visit the library yourself during ______or ______.

Some Notes about Study Hall and ELT:

The only requirement when you read for Reading Record minutes is that an adult be present and see you read. You will need his or her ______. This means that you can read during study hall or ELT as long as an adult sees you doing this.

When you are ______, please plan on seeing me during study hall or ELT to discuss what you missed. This includes missing class for music ______. While homework may be easy to complete by asking a friend, the lesson or activity you missed may be important to experience as it is a larger part of the whole and can’t be read in a ______.

I will offer ELT every week. The seventh grade teachers assigned each subject a specific day to avoid conflicts if you are asked by several teachers to stay for ELT. If this occurs, you must stay with the teacher whose subject is that day. As long as I am available, I can work with you any study hall or ELT if you need help and do not need to see another teacher. English’s official ELT day is ______, which is when I will always be available.

STATION FOUR: Assignment Board and Daily Agenda
