London has an incredible history as a judicial centre. Between royalty at Westminster and commerce in the City, mediaeval lawyers found a quiet niche in which to practise their craft. They are still there and make for a historic part of London that remains hidden to most visitors. Your Blue Badge Guide will meet the coach on the Aldwych for coffee and biscuits and then take you through the history of Legal London. You will discover how England has played a role in developing the law and legal practice around the globe. During the morning you will visit the Inns of Court, Middle Temple Hall and the Royal Courts of Justice in the Strand. After a carvery lunch in Fleet Street you will visit the Old Bailey followed by a stroll through stately Lincolns Inn. There will be time for a cup of tea before leaving London at 4.15pm. You will be off the coach for most of the day but the pace is gentle in the cloistered lanes of the lawyers’ quarter with little distance to cover and lots of stops along the way.
